Pre-Order “Fortune Favors”!

Bob Gentry – Fortune Favors

Today starts the official Pre-Order for the new record! There’s T-shirt and Mugs as well…quite spiffy!

I released a 5 song EP (Back on the Horse) while we were all on lockdown as a little teaser, but this is my first full-length album in 10 years!

I added a page on my website that lists all the credits to all the incredible people who helped …but an extra special thanks for Kirk Pasich [for digging me up from under a rock and signing me] and Dave Darling [for producing something I’m so proud of].

I admit, I’m rusty when it comes to all the shameful self-promotion stuff that goes along with releasing a record, so please forgive this “old-timer” for not knowing proper uses of hashtags heheh. Last time I did an album people were actually buying CDs….and now, I don’t even own a CD player myself.

I’m looking into possibly doing some shows as soon as it’s safe and I can find the right venues. I spent many years playing the club scene, but I think I’d like to try some different things down the road…like perhaps House Concerts or something more intimate; but we’ll see what the future holds….there is some Desert Concerts I did not too long ago that were filmed and will hopefully be released for public viewing at some point…more to come of those!

“But how can I help?!!?!?”—Well, I’m glad you asked!! lol Honestly, the biggest help of all is by helping to spread the word [buying 50 copies isn’t bad either, but there is no greater gift than a little Word of Mouth].

I hope you enjoy the new record as much as I enjoyed making it. I’ve missed music tremendously and I now feel like myself again!

Thanks for being in my corner to all the fine folks at:

Before Covid put the world on hold, I was fortunate enough to get to record an album with the help of Blue Élan Records… with a big thanks to Kirk Pasich for digging me up as I was hiding away in the desert.

Lucky me, I got hooked up with Grammy-nominated producer Dave Darling and some amazing musicians that all helped (I’ll list these fantastic players on my website real soon)… the record was ready to roll and WHAM! Lockdown!

Since it wasn’t possible to be out performing and pushing a record safely, the label released the 5 song Back on the Horse EP as a little teaser. (Thanks to those who purchased that and helped promote it!)

Now that most of us are vaccinated, life seems to be slowly returning to normal… so….

Today, we’re releasing the first single from the new upcoming album, Fortune Favors, titled “Lonesome”….

I believe the full album will be available near the end of summer(Fall), but stay tuned for other news and songs leading up!

I can’t wait to get the new record out there!
Thanks for all the love and support through the years!

A Little Tease

Golly! This is going to be a busy week, but fun!

Funny thing with music stuff… It’ll be calm for a little bit and then suddenly everything happens at once. I’ll be announcing some stuff this week but above is a little teaser.

Wednesday, I’ll also be in Los Angeles rehearsing with the members of Poco for a tribute concert being filmed for the late great Rusty Young on Friday. I recorded one of Rusty’s tracks for a record that was already “in the works” and then we lost him unexpectedly 🙁 I’m sure the filmed concert and tribute album will be released at some point down the road. I’m way excited to be performing with the members of Poco! More to come on that when I know more. I’ll probably be posting little tidbits on from the concert on my social media this Thursday/Friday…as well as some other news.

On December 15th, join Blue Élan for an evening of holiday classics and originals, featuring performances by Soul Asylum, Chelsea Williams, Car Astor, Mustangs of the West, Amy Wilcox, Roan Yellowthorn, and Bob Gentry! The stream goes live at 5PM PT. Click here to set a reminder, and we’ll see you there: https://blueelan.lnk.to/yetanotherholidaylivestreamfb

I’ll be doing an original song called “Christmas in July” – A little song I wrote thinking back on all my younger years growing up in snowy Michigan…missing the snow, friends, and family.

ALSO!!! I’m doing a Xmas Cover duet with the fabulous Mary Scholz!

Hope you can tune in! Pick your poison with Twitch, YouTube, or Facebook 🙂
