This last Thursday, I took over my label’s Instagram account and updated the Stories through the day….all leading up the the 5pm premiere of this Bad Dreams video from the Fortune Favors album.

I tried my best to have some fun on the Instagram Takeover. Honestly, I’m a little new to IG but I really like it best of all social media things. I don’t have as many followers there as I do on Facebook or Twitter, but it’s a nice breather from the politics… It’s like TikTok for old people. hehe If you’d like to follow me on IG: https://www.instagram.com/bobgentry [I actually post more there than I do anywhere else].

I’m shooting another video for the song That Life in a few weeks at this amazing “Glamping” place out in Joshua Tree. I’ll post photos and clips as it’s going, and also some neat information about the place that we’re doing it [like how to stay there yourself!]. It’s actually a place on AirBnB that I’d been eye-balling for a little while. The listing said “no filming without permission” so I reached out and they were VERY kind to allow it!! I’ll be sure to post some links after the video airs to help give it a plug.

But seriously….how cool is this???!?!?!?

Real quickly, I’ve been rehearsing with a group of guys here in the desert that I FINALLY managed to pull together and we’re getting prepared for some live shows soon…. where and when? No Idea yet…but having a band all set here in the desert, that I can rehearse and perform with has been really nice! [Most of my musician connections were in LA and finding Desert Musicians had been a bit of a challenge…but that hurdle has been jumped! woot]

Now I just need a booking agent and manager. LOL

I post all this stuff on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, but I think of my blog now almost like a little scrapbook. Most of the time, I start with Instagram first….which automatically posts to Facebook, and then I’ll Tweet. Honestly, I have no idea if anyone even reads blogs anymore but it’s kind of nice to have all this stuff in once spot. 🙂

Monopoly Video

Yesterday, the Monopoly video aired. Here’s the clip in case ya missed it. Friday at 5pm probably wasn’t the greatest time to release anything on the internet (for West Coast or East Coast), but the good thing about YouTube…it stays there for later viewing …so here’s some “later viewing” for you. Ha! The main thing is… there’s something for people to watch. Then again, if you’d like to have your ego and self-esteem crushed, I highly recommend a Friday 5pm release. 🙂

I’m a little late to the YouTube Party when it comes to trying to gather subscribers, so I welcome any new ones! I’m sure I’ll be doing more of these down the road.

Bob Gentry – Fortune Favors

Today starts the official Pre-Order for the new record! There’s T-shirt and Mugs as well…quite spiffy!

I released a 5 song EP (Back on the Horse) while we were all on lockdown as a little teaser, but this is my first full-length album in 10 years!

I added a page on my website that lists all the credits to all the incredible people who helped …but an extra special thanks for Kirk Pasich [for digging me up from under a rock and signing me] and Dave Darling [for producing something I’m so proud of].

I admit, I’m rusty when it comes to all the shameful self-promotion stuff that goes along with releasing a record, so please forgive this “old-timer” for not knowing proper uses of hashtags heheh. Last time I did an album people were actually buying CDs….and now, I don’t even own a CD player myself.

I’m looking into possibly doing some shows as soon as it’s safe and I can find the right venues. I spent many years playing the club scene, but I think I’d like to try some different things down the road…like perhaps House Concerts or something more intimate; but we’ll see what the future holds….there is some Desert Concerts I did not too long ago that were filmed and will hopefully be released for public viewing at some point…more to come of those!

“But how can I help?!!?!?”—Well, I’m glad you asked!! lol Honestly, the biggest help of all is by helping to spread the word [buying 50 copies isn’t bad either, but there is no greater gift than a little Word of Mouth].

I hope you enjoy the new record as much as I enjoyed making it. I’ve missed music tremendously and I now feel like myself again!
