So I’m walking down my block today and in front of me, I see a girl walking her dog. I think it was a Boxer of some sort. Anyway, the dog was barking and she kept pulling on the leash and choking the dog trying and get the dog to stop (like that’s gonna work?).

Now I’m not one to tell someone how to raise their “child” but as i walk closer (I was catching up to her since i walk fast) I notice her KICKING the dog and saying “be quiet” and “shut up”. My blood starts to boil as I see her kick the dog about 4 more times.

As I walk up to her, I see her about to kick the dog again. This throws me over the edge. And not because I’m some sort of Super Hero to animals or anything but only because I don’t like to see anything get kicked…. I say:

“Lady, if i even see you even try to kick that dog again I’m going to kick YOU!”

She looks at me with an extremely shocked look on her face…like “How dare I tell her what to do with her dog” or something. I continue saying:

“I’m serious, I can kick MUCH harder than you…don’t test me!”

She muttered some cuss words at me and I glare at her and kept walking. It annoyed me.

I’m really not sure what I would have done if she would have kicked her dog one more time in front of me. Looking back, I suppose i could have called the police and reported her to the animal abuse people are something but I wasn’t thinking that fast.

Mainly, I just feel sorry for that dog. People suck!

I’ve actually been getting quite a few entries but what I’m finding is…what might be a good design and use of the photos, might not look so good on a t-shirt (so keep that in mind when designing). Remember, the design doesn’t have to be a square

I’ve been getting lotza emails from people I never knew were out there reading the blog. Most all say something like “Hey, where did you go? You stopped blogging,…come back!”

I keep forgetting that other folks are actually out there reading. Lurker-Factor is high KEWL.

Truth be told, at the moment my life isn’t all THAT exciting and I haven’t really had too much to say. I have been writing (music) like crazy though. I’m averaging about 2 new tunes a week… some are good, some are bad…and the rest are somewhere in the middle. It’s so hard to judge your own stuff so I’m not quite sure what’s what.

I was stuck in a music-rut a while back worrying about trying to write new songs for the next CD and making them “singles”. I got over that by realizing that I just need to write what I know and not worry about anything else. If someone else happens to relate to the music, then GREAT. I suppose the same thing goes for the blog.

This next CD is WAY OVERDUE. Recording funds always slow things down though.

So let’s see…what could I update the blog with? …uh…I’ve been gaining weight. It sucks. I haven’t eaten meat since the beginning of the year and have been doing the whole Tofu-this and Soy-that thing. It makes it harder to find things to eat on a menu…the things without meat in it are usually fattening pasta meals(which I LOVE). I need to really start watching what I eat now [mental note to self–cut out the pasta]. I must say that I discovered these little Morning Star Mini-Corn Dogs that i just fucking LOVE!!!

I haven’t gained THAT much weight…but it’s enough that I’m noticing it myself and not happy about it. I’m playing hockey once a week but I think I need to start hitting a gym again. I was in a good routine a while back and feeling pretty good. I ended up stopping when I kept catching colds and getting sick from public gym equipment..maybe I was just going to a sleazy gym LOL

My tennis partner moved back to London so I haven’t been doing that…with the weather starting to warm up again, i need to get back into it. I just need to get a little more active (of course the PS3 isn’t helping things …thank god i finally beat God of War 2 so now i can get back to real life)

Ok…enough about my body fat.

Time to scoot over to the piano bench and make some noise. Too bad playing the piano doesn’t take off the weight, I’d be a rail!!!

As some of you know, I have some videos posted up at Music Nation. They’ve been up for a while. I haven’t really pushed them too much but having them up there does help bring a little extra exposure. Anyway…the video for Foam is now at #54 36 (but might not stay there for long) which is pretty dandy considering I haven’t sent out a mass mailer to try to get votes or anything like that.

So…since it seems to be gaining momentum, why not see if i can get it ranked higher? The winner get’s some sort of record deal with Epic Records. That would be nice…

So do me a favor and take a moment and vote …all you need to do it give each song 5 Stars..that counts as a vote. You can vote once per day and also text you vote in if you choose.

It might be best to just focus on just 1 or 2 of the videos and push those rather than having the votes spread across the board. And so since Foam and The Easy Way are now in the low 50’s, I’d say be sure to give those each 5 Stars…of course, you’re welcome to 5-Star the other ones too while you’re there but be sure to hit the lowest two…and remember, you can vote daily.

AND as always..please spread the word to your online friends.

Let me just say a quickie "Happy Birthday" to one of my dearest friends Janine. Last year, I SPACED out and forgot her birthday and felt incredibly bad about it. Well…i didn’t actually forget…I remembered about 3 days after it came and went… but I’m pretty sure that counts as "forgetting"

And so..this year, I had 4 alarms set to remind me and they all went off last night about midnight.

I’ve known Janine since we were about 12 or 13 and though we don’t live in the same time zone, we’re still good friends. Now that I think of it, just about all the childhood friends I grew up with are still people I talk with ever so often and we always pick up right where we left off as if I never moved away.

When I go back to Michigan to visit, it’s always like a fun reunion and not just for me. Many of those friends who all hung out together back then only see each other when I come back to town (even though they only live a few miles away from one another). Everyone has their own lives now but when we come together it’s like being 16 years old again.

When I was 16, Janine and I flew out to California and stayed with her aunt and uncle and I remember it being such a great time. It was my 1st real taste that there was life outside Michigan..the ocean…palm trees…swimming pools, movie stars. I recall getting very sunburned while Guns and Roses’ "Sweet Child of Mine" CRANKED from the rooftop of her aunt’s apartment building. The entire time, we kept seriously considering that we should just stay here in Southern California. I can still remember the conversation as we were about to get on the plane to fly back to Winter Wonderland. It consisted of trying to figure out how in the hell we could just stay and what everyone would say if we didn’t come back

We got back on the airplane kicking and screaming (and sunburned) and on the 5 hour flight back, I thought about how i knew I’d return…someday.

As much as I complain about Hollywood sometimes and the plastic people and the crazy sky-high rent, I really am glad to be here. Out of all the places I’ve visited in my life, none gave me that feeling like it was a place i belonged. Sure, this place can make you a little jaded at times but I can’t think of a better climate to be jaded in

These days, I don’t even notice the palm trees anymore and the ocean is just around the corner… I don’t notice it either but I sure notice every time a Guns and Roses song comes on

Happy Birthday Janine!!!

My new Yamaha Guitar arrived today. It smells new and plays GREAT. It looks a little like my old one but the difference is night and day. I like that it has a tuner built in right in the top of it…that should come in handy.

The photo above doesn’t really do the guitar justice since it was snapped with my cell phone camera…but i tell ya…it’s DANDY!

It’s like Christmas around here (only without the depression and miserable holiday music)
