I’m ready to join the Mr. Muggles fan club…i wonder what power he will have

I am alive. The PS3 has released me for a little while to do a little blog entry. Boy that thing is addictive! Even NOW I’m thinking I should go back to the game I’ve been trying to beat for the last week. There’s tons of websites out there that have "cheat codes" but I like to beat the game 1st then go back through it after with the codes. I HAVE been tempted to use them though. I haven’t broke down yet though

Let’s see…what’s been happening? The Oscars were last night but I ended up playing hockey. We actually made it to the finals and our championship game was last night. We placed 2nd for the season and missed the shiny cup by just one goal (4-3). I made the goal that tied us up at 3-3 but before I even had time to celebrate they came back 30 seconds later and scored (grrr)

The guys on the team were all a little bummed out that we didn’t win the game but we really had a great season and I’m happy. Sure, it would have been nice to win but we do have a winning team(if that makes sense). I think the Summer season starts next week already…no breaks-which is fine with me.

Let’s see…what else? Oh, i have rehearsal tonight. I’m going to be trying out some new tunes and see how they sound and if they’re worth recording soon. Sometimes, I’ll write a song at home and think it’s pretty dandy and then when I get with the band guys, it doesn’t always come out like I think it will. Some things just don’t work and you never know until you see/hear how it sounds live with the players. It’s a good test to see if the song works or not. If the song doesn’t sound well live, chances are the recording of it’s not going to improve

I’d just like to thank the members of the Academy..Sony…Blu-Ray …um…let’s see…my wireless Bluetooth controllers … [drops the piece of paper] ..shit, I’m lost now. This award sure is heavy though!

My bloggage has died down lately. I’ve been writing other things though.

BUT, here’s the reason I haven’t been keeping up with the blog as much…my household has been invaded by the Sony Playstation 3. I now hear voices…it talks to me. It says things like “Who needs to blog when you have me?”

It’s very needy and clingy…If I don’t give it enough attention, it gets upset with me and it’ll start SCREAMING at me Soon, I feel a PS3 “intervention” coming on. I just hope it’s in the form of a game

Ok…all silliness aside…this thing is pretty bad ass!

Oh…hey everyone..this is the PS3 typing. Bob is a little busy right now. Don’t listen to him when he says I’m needy and clingy. He’s still allowed to hang out with you all. Right now, we’re just in our honeymoon phase and I’m sure his affection for me will die down after a little while. Until then, I’ll be replying to all his blog entries and finishing up this entry.

So today, Bob will be touching me gently and fondling my wireless controllers. The guy’s a machine and I hardly ever get a break! Ever since I arrived here in Hollywood, I’ve been having a great time though. It’s warm and there’s lotza electrical sockets for me to plug myself into. Bob’s a nice guy.

I know Bob’s having a t-shirt/logo contest so I took some time and came up with my own submission. I’m pretty sure it’s not going to win but I figured I’d give it a shot. What else would you expect from a PS3?

Yesterday was spent at the dentist’s office. I was scheduled to get my teeth cleaned but it ended up being much more…I had some fillings I needed to get done (AKA too much Mountain Dew)…and one of my teeth had a small chip in it …the chip also got fixed. YAY! So today, I’m back to having my teeth all in working order. That’s a good feeling …I was sort of dreading the dental visit but It’s good now that it’s all done.

Dental technology is amazing these days! My dentist has this new X-ray machine. You place the black flat stone piece in your mouth and the X-ray gets immediately transferred into the computer and he can see it 20 seconds after the X-ray is taken…it’s then put into this sweet looking dental software and he matches up the X-ray to the teeth on the screen for the files. It reminded me of that scene with Tom Cruise and the computer in Minority Report-you’d have to see the movie to know what I’m talking about. It was neat though.

Speaking of movies… 2 words.

I’m told T-shirt Logo submissions are slowly starting to trickle in. It’s not a truck load of them though so the chances of winning are just higher for the people who did submit…there’s still a bunch of time though. I’ll push it more later and maybe give a pre-post of some that I like. Or maybe no one wants $500?

*For anyone entering…let me stress this…please do not spend every waking hour trying to come up with something…just skim through the photos and if something catches your eye that you think would look good on a t-shirt and it’s something you think you could throw together quickly…then submit Oh…keep in mind, that the guidelines ask for you to turn in something no bigger than 11X11 but the actual design does not have to be a square And lastly, turn in as many as you like but if you do …be sure to title your art john_smith.jpg, john_smith2.jpg, john_smith3.jpg (easy stuff eh?)

Basically, I’m holding a wet T-shirt/Logo Contest. So if there’s any graphic designers out there who wish to take a stab at it, come on out to play. I’ve posted a handful of images that people can draw from if they like…some are good…some are silly but I figured I’d just post a bunch and see if someone out there can make something cool out of it. You know how sometimes others can see something creative out of something that no one else sees …that’s sort of what I’m hoping for…and to have fun along the way.

I’ve tried coming up with ideas in the past but designing logos isn’t really my specialty. SO, It’s time to let someone else give it a shot and see if they turn in something that blows everyone away. Details to come in the emailer…but you guys will get to vote online for your favorite.

I thought about just hiring a company to come up with a new logo but why not have some fun with this and see where it goes?

Preferably, I’d love to give the money to a friend or fan and someone who knows me and can make something that’ll represent me, the music, and the website…but this contest is open to anyone over 18 and in the US. There’s a bunch of "official rules" that go along with the contest as in every contest[those will be posted too]…my manager did all that so yell at her if you live in Canada and want to submit hehehe. No, don’t yell at her…she works hard.

So yeah…I’m giving away $500.00 to the winner.

I know it might be hard to do…but I hope you guys and gals make me look cool and not like this picture of me holding the guitar.

I haven’t written anything in a while… I don’t have the excuse of "I haven’t had time" because…well…I have. There was actually a few times last week when I logged in to my journal write page and started writing only to close the page without actually posting. I’m sure I’m not the only blogger out there who has done this.

Writer’s Blog Block? Perhaps. I think it’s just that the things on my mind or are not things I want people to know. I’m slightly "restricted" but one day I’ll cut loose and go into some of those other thoughts. I like to save that stuff for songs though

Speaking of songs…that contest ends tonight…thanks to those of you who have voted. I suppose it might have helped if I had sent out a mailer to my mailing list asking for votes but…uh..well… I think if I sent out another email asking people to vote for me, I’d probably have 200 people unsubscribe. By the end of the last contest, people were so tired of getting those emails…it was like the never-ending contest–quite draining to friends and fans. Don’t believe me? Just skim back through a few months of my journal in 2006…it was a "vote for me marathon"…BLEH!

Ok..I need to get in gear…I’m heading off to 2 Super Bowling parties. I’m not really a huge football fan but It’ll be good to get out of the house. I am a fan of the halftime show though
