“Good” friends tell you that you’re fat???
Monday, December 4th, 2006So today’s blog was sparked from a comment a guy on my hockey team said to me as I was on my way to a holiday party last Saturday night.
I mentioned on the phone to him while on my way there… how I went to the same party last year and that the Food was incredible. His reply was "You know, you’ve really started to put on some weight and you should not go too crazy on the food there"…
[GULP!]
What do you say when someone says that to you? LOL. I DO know that in his mind he was trying to do me a favor by letting me know and it did make me stop and take a moment to think "well maybe I really have put on some weight"…
With this time of year, it’s hard not to put on a few extra pounds but I’ll admit…I’ve been slacking off at the gym…not playing tennis and not really watching what I’m eating (well, I’m watching it as I’m eating it and that’s about it). I know…it’s excuses.
So the question here is…if you were gaining weight and not realizing it, would you want someone to tell you? I guess I would but it IS a strange thing to hear.
Speaking of weight and fitness… This is cool! …I’m part of the 1st Indie Podcast that caters to Jogging! [How sweet is that!]
"Bob Marcus, a retired physician and casual runner, found that, when music matched his pace, running was more fun. He coined the term music-paced running and founded JogTunesIndie.com"
It’s a neat idea for a podcast…he takes the songs for your jog or workout and lists them by BPM [Beats Per Minute]. So since most people jog and workout to music, they get to create their own pace and can create their own playlists.
For those of us who do workout with our iPods, we’ve been creating our own playlists for this sort of thing already…but Dr. Bob’s got it all mapped out for us like a running machine that starts us out slow and gets more intense as it goes along. Perhaps, I’ll give his 1st JogTunesIndie a try real soon… Maybe this will help work off the holiday pounds
