Can I just say how cool it is to have tickets available at Ticketmaster? I was just told by someone that …not only can they email you the PDF file for you to print out…they also have it so you can order and have them kept at Will Call for you to pick up at the door and not have to deal with lines and things like that. SWEET!
So I sent out a mailer to my hockey team letting them know I have a show this Tuesday at 7:30pm and some responses I got back were like "Wow, I didn’t know you played music" …not sure why, but that made me laugh. I guess after 2 years of knowing someone, you would think you know what makes them tick. Or maybe it’s just that when we’re all there…we’re just so focused on hockey [of course you might not guess that by the ending scores of some games]
Speaking of Hockey, I have a game tonight too…juggling.
I have a few minutes before I have to leave to pick up my mother from LAX. She’ll be taking over my apartment until Saturday….and at some point today I have to swing by the Yamaha warehouse to pick up a guitar for the show (Yamaha rocks-Thanks Lisa!). Meanwhile…I need to promote this show.
I’ll try to get a blog in after Tuesday…Hope to see some of you!
Yes, I’m getting geared up for the show THIS Tuesday at 7:30pm…you can still order tickets online via Ticketmaster by clicking the flyer below(or at the door). I’m told Ticketmaster emails you a PDF file that you can print out and take to the club with you. (Pretty Sweet!)
I only have a minute or two…I have so much to do to get ready…plus, my Mom is flying in from Michigan tomorrow so I’ll need to juggle some things [glad she's coming though]. Plus a hockey game…
Things will settle down after next weekend….meanwhile, I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE SHOW!
Any time you hear anyone moaning and whining "oh no, not another red carpet…please don’t take my picture any more…why won’t they just leave me alone…etc.." Well….those people need to be kicked in the mouth. This is FUN STUFF …and if you hear someone saying how it’s such a drag…they are full of it.

So I walk away with a nice LA Music Award that says "Rock Male Singer Songwriter of the Year" and another Album I helped write and produce wins "R&B Album of the Year"… SWEET!

I was happy that my band guys showed up. Pictured above…Randy, Jesus, Me & Chuck [Jesus will be playing Violin at our next show this TUESDAY at 7:30pm]
Pictured below… my manager Candice.

Yes…I wear glasses (and not to be trendy)…I’m really quite BLIND but my eyes were very watery and runny last night due to what feels like a Cold coming on and my contacts weren’t really staying in. Enough about my eyes.
So let’s see…lotza celebs there. Tons of people…and the venue was really quite nice! It was hard to NOT walk away feeling like it was a great night!
Here’s part of an email going out…but I wanted to post it here 1st.
Hi Everyone,
As some of you might know …we did not take home the StarTomorrow “prize” but I wanted to send out a sincere thank you to everyone who voted, helped spread the word, and spent the time to help get us to the Top 5. We have won without “winning.” I know that might not make sense but it’s true!
Sure, we really wanted to “win” but, in the last boxing round we ducked when we saw a punch coming… No fear, some really good things are just ahead for us!
Mainly, thank you all so much for being in our corner…maybe next time we can hold the spit bucket for you all
It really means much to me that you took us all the way till the very end. The amount of support has been overwhelming and we hope it continues.
These emails will (thankfully) die down a little…I was feeling like a pest…but I’ll be sure to send out important updates as they happen.
Meanwhile, let me leave you with the invite to our show on November 14th at 7:30pm: Tix at Ticketmaster or at the door. If you can’t make the show…buy a ticket anyway
Better yet….get a ticket and come so we can say thank you for all of your help in the flesh!
Lastly… As I mentioned before, I won Rock Singer Songwriter of the Year (2006) at the 16th Annual LA Music Awards …I heard they’re having a live stream of the show [Correction: they will be posting edited video from the show on the site later]on Nov 9th at http://www.lamusicawards.com for anyone wanting to tune in.:)
Please pass this along to anyone you passed along other “Vote for Bob” emails. Again…Thanks Everyone!
Oh… someone pointed this out to me in the middle of the contest but I didn’t think it was appropriate to blog about at the time….but at one point in October, my website was actually getting more visits than StarTomorrow’s [according to alexa.com]. I’m very proud of that.

*I took a “Blog Vacation” in July
Thanks for all the emails…those are very sweet!
Another Monday…
Let me say THANKS to everyone who have been voting for us weekly over the last 14 Weeks…It’s been a LONG road and I know some of you have worked just as hard as we have to promote and gain votes for us on the NBC StarTomorrow show. I can’t even begin to express how thankful I am to make it to the Top 5. We’re so grateful to make as far as we have.
No matter what the outcome of the show, we’ve learned quite a bit. The show really pushed us all to the limit of going "balls out" on promotion. But I think what I’ll take away from this whole experience feeling best about is …knowing we have some people out there who REALLY want to see us succeed. I can’t even begin to describe what that feels like from my end….but it’s really nice!
To whatever group that walks away with the show’s "prize"…I know you all have worked just as hard and I wish us all the very best in the future. The good thing about making it this far is, I know that if this doesn’t work out, they’ll be something else around the corner for us all. We’re all winners, as cheesy as that might sound. (Hey, I’m not afraid to be cheesy)
And so…we cross our fingers and hope for the best…I’m now a finger-crossing-expert.
Please come out and celebrate with us at the Key Club’s Plush Lounge on November 14th at 7:30pm. Everyone is invited to the super cool VIP room! Tickets are just $7.00[show some support so we can eat] ;)….come and hang out with us! Eat, Drink, Be Merry.
It’s Me, Brooke Ramel, and Eugene Edwards…and maybe some special guests.
More to come. Thanks again all!
… howzabout with the good stuff!
Thanks for all the comments on yesterday’s journal entry regarding the NBC ST Top 5 , the Yamaha news and the LA Music Award. Let’s say, it’s been a good week!
Oh….before I go on let me shout out and give thanks to "The Podfather" Adam Curry for giving me a FANTASTIC plug on his Daily Source Code! Adam’s been spinning "Upside Down" since the Dawn of Podcasting [Adam pretty much pioneered it]. Thanks Adam, you rule!
More good news? …ok, so last night I popped out to the LA Music Pre-Award show and I found out that a CD I Co-Produced for someone else [with 1 song I had written ...and another that I co-wrote as well as played and sang on] also won an LA Music Award as well. It’s good to know that something I was a part of and worked very hard on had also won.
I still like my winning category the best though
I have other GOOD News but I have to save that for later….too much good news in one week might actually cause an explosion!
…the bad stuff? I’m feeling a little tired and I’ve got a rehearsal scheduled for tonight….time to pump myself will a gallon of Soda Pop! Or maybe a nap before I run out real soon? Hmm.
I hope you guys had a fun Halloween yesterday…I spent most of the day working on stuff and of course Campaigning for Votes on StarTomorrow. My emails that went out all said things like …"This will be the very last time you’ll have to vote"…"help me win the record deal"…"one last big push"…"breath"…The last 14 Weeks I’ll just think of as the StarTomorrow Pregnancy. We all wish for a healthy baby
Thanks again for the continued votes and comments, by the way.
GREAT things seem to keep happening to me…and I mean REALLY GREAT THINGS. Making the Top 5 on NBC’s StarTomorrow is PRETTY SWEET but let me get away from that for a moment and go into other news…
Some of you have already noticed this new Yamaha Logo to the right of my journal sidebar. It’s true! I just signed an endorsement deal with them and I’m very proud to say I’m officially part of the Yamaha Family!
I just about jumped out of my skin when I heard this news. As a piano and guitar player(but mostly piano), there is no other company I would rather be with! It’s so nice to be endorsed by a company whose "toys"…I mean "instruments" I LOVE to play!
YAY!
The other subtle change you might notice on my sidebar is this bad boy! What used to say "Nominee" now says "RECIPIENT"… Yes…it’s true too!
At about 2am last night I received an email from the fine folks at the 16th Annual LA Music Awards letting me know that I have WON! I was thinking that this might be some sort of secret I’m supposed to keep until the actual Main Event on November 9th but the email sent to me gave me this new artwork and it says: "FEEL FREE TO START BRAGGING! From now until eternity you will ALWAYS be an LA MUSIC AWARD RECIPIENT!"
WOW! So the Award I’ll be picking up on the 9th will be for "Rock-Male Singer Songwriter of the Year"-2006. I could NOT ask for a better category to win, let alone just be nominated for. I can’t wait for the Main Event!
I am one thankful and excited person today. With the way things are going…I’m thinking I should start playing the LOTTO
