The "War on Spam" continues…it would seem that over the last week or so…just when i think i have the Spammers beat, I see they’ve now infiltrated my blog again in the form of Trackbacks/Pingbacks. I emailed a friend yesterday to see how to go about getting rid of Trackbacks and she pointed me to the wordpress dashboard section that lets me uncheck:

" Allow link notifications from other Weblogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)"

And so…I UNCHECK this box and I’m STILL getting Trackbacks.

*Oh…for those who don’t know what Trackbacks are…it’s basically…. if i were to link to another blog entry…most of the time, it leaves a Trackback Comment on their blog to let them know I’m referring to their entry in my entry. Not sure if i explained that properly.

So now…what’s happening is…these stupid Casino/Porn sites are sneaking comments on my journal with a link back to their lame-ass sites.

I know it’s been a while since I last blogged. It’s not that I don’t have anything to say …but mainly, what I want to say is best kept un-blogged. I have some really nice things happening in my life (for once) and to gripe about little things that are annoying me would be…well…it’d be silly. I need to just keep focused on the positive stuff happening and not let the little things bite at me. I guess to have big stuff happening opens you up for the little gnats to attack.

It’s also been a busy week…I ended up meeting my sister in Vegas on Wednesday. I just jaunted out to Sin City to say "hey" and hang with my sista’ and It was a very nice trip–but a very quick one. It’s only about a 3 to 4 hour drive to Vegas so it’s (usually)no trouble to drive out when my family and friends are there.

I really enjoy gambling on those slot machines…. and even though I know I’m not going to win, I still enjoy it. I think the trick is…to find the machine that takes your money away the slowest While everyone was feeding dollars and quarters to some games…I decided to try the Penny Machines…turns out, I won about $100 on one…go figure.

We ended up staying Downtown rather than on the strip…both sections of Vegas are cool, but being downtown is a little easier to walk around…seems like everything’s all right there.

Let’s see…what else happened last week? Uh..oh…I did some recording with a friend of mine…We were messing around with a tune for a Rick Nelson Tribute CD. The track we did needs some work though…I’m not sure I’m ready to let anyone hear it. I has some cool parts but there’s still something wrong with it that I can’t put my finger on. I think I just need to step away from it for a bit and then see if it fixes itself. Too bad I can’t do that with my own life
