Doing What the Shirt Says.
Monday, March 6th, 2006Monday, Monday…
Again, another day of waking up early. The one thing I’ve always been really good at, SLEEPING… I seem to be struggling with these last few weeks. CRAZY.
Friday I mentioned having band rehearsal and working on some new songs. I had a friend come in a video tape some of it and here’s a clip. But before I insert the link let me give all the "Disclaimers".
Disclaimers: Please keep in mind that this is a "work in progress" and the song will probably not end up sounding like this when it’s complete. This was only about the 4th time we went through the song and everyone was just trying to find their part. Secondly, the audio is just from what the Video Cam Mic was picking up and not a mixing board. And lastly, I was still learning the song myself as you’ll see from me reading the lyrics off of a piece of paper on the keyboard …so it’s not as though it was a "performance"… you get the idea, it’s just a practice ;) [End of Disclaimers]
Normally, I would not post an unfinished thing like this but I’m just doing what the T-shirt says
I wrote the song about someone I know who’s addicted to prescription medication… Appropriately titled "Push Down and Turn". Here’s the 1st peek at it. It’s just a little pop song…nothing more, nothing less. I did have fun with the lyrics, though I’m not sure how easy they are to make out in this recording.
Last night was a big night here in Hollywood with the Awards and all[Streets were blocked off and Limos were everywhere] but I missed out on the parties. Instead, I had a hockey game. We lost 5 to 4 but I scored 2 glory goals(the kind that make you jump up). It was still a great game even though we did not win. It was also the last game of this season so afterwards the team went out for a drink. I ended up drinking one too many slushy rum drinks. It was a nice gathering.
