Macromedia Studio 8
Thursday, September 29th, 2005Wow! I’ve only had a day to mess with the new Studio 8 but I have to say I’m really impressed!

I uploaded some tests to check out, but I think you’ll need to upgrade to the new free Flash Player 8 in order to view anything–otherwise, you might only hear sound…or nothing at all. [It only take a second.]
The video compression in flash is a huge step up than what it was before and much easier to use [for me at least]. Here’s some tests I did:
I like the built-in controls with auto-drop shadows.
Studio 8 comes with Flash 8, Dreamweaver 8, Fireworks 8…and a new program called Flash Paper. I have to admit, at 1st glance this Flash Paper program didn’t even interest me…but it’s pretty sweet too!
Here’s an example…basically…all i did was open the Flash Paper program and Drag and Drop a Word File or PDF file into it…it converts it automatically…and the end result is this:
You can zoom into the page and print right from there…it’s as if they took all the work out of it
It also has a built in word search for Doc’s with quite a bit of text. Lastly…you can highlight the text…pretty sweet if you ask me.
Anyway…there’s still much to learn but I’m totally GEEKED!
[Update: I forgot to say that it also comes with something called Contribute 3--it has it's uses but I still like ftp pro]
