Hockey Injury #5
Again, this looks much more painful than it is. What happened was (like a fool) I stopped the puck in mid-air to try and knock it down on the ice. Let’s just say, it was moving at a faster speed than I thought it was.
And since there’s NO padding on the inside of a hockey glove, this is the end result.
I’m beginning to understand how a skateboarder feels talking about his “battle scars“…Silly, I know. On the bright side of all this, we won the game 5 to 4 and one of those goals were mine. Even if we would have lost, it would have still been a good game. There were great plays by both teams and some nice passing and shots.
———-end of hockey talk———-
I just got a call from my friend Ruchelle who lives in Las Vegas. She’s here in Hollywood and wants to get together tonight. Ruchelle is a super cool gal pal. Also, she’s always been a huge believer in my pursuit of music and has always been there to lend a hand anyway she can. It’s not everyday one has these sort of people in their life. [Ruchelle can be seen(and heard) in this TV clip with me on the Sally Kirkland Talk Show]–Keep in mind, it’s live and the quality of the clip’s audio is a little rough. I’m pretty sure the clip was taken from a copy of a copy so there’s some really bad hissing going on.
[Ha! I just watched the clip again and it brought back some funny memories
If you're not on a High Speed Access, do not attempt to view unless you have an extra day of your life to kill.]
And so, my plans for the day?
I’m going to be talking to my lawyer sometime this afternoon to go through this recording contract and try to take things to the next step. I saw him last night at the hockey game[he's on the team] but we didn’t really get a chance to talk about anything other than scoring goals
[I'm seriously addicted to playing hockey--it's so weird].
Tomorrow, night I’m supposed to hang out with my guitar buddy Kevin. It’s always good to see Kev… And since I’m plugging friends in video clips, Kevin can be seen playing guitar in this clip…And now that I glance at it again, I see Ruchelle’s in that clip too (just behind Kev).
Not meaning to end of a depressing note here, but I was pretty shocked to hear that Peter Jennings died yesterday from lung cancer. I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about this for a while(as we should). I caught a little bit of ABC’s tribute to him late last night but I’m hoping to learn more. The little bit I saw made me stop and think “the guy seemed like he lived an amazing life as a narrator for the last few decades“.
For those of you who don’t know, Jennings smoked for many years and stopped. But then around the time of 9-11, he broke down and started smoking again. This is just a helpful reminder to me, being the ex-smoker that I am
“Do Not EVER Start Back Up”. It’s been well over a year since I’ve had a cigarette and I miss it…Just not enough to go back to it.
Ok…This post is going on too long but I’m just making up for the last two days of half-ass entries. More tomorrow
