Nothing’s confirmed yet, but it looks like there’s a strong chance I’ll be in Detroit, Michigan over Halloween. October 25th to November 1st are the dates I’m shooting for. My friend Jeff is having a big Halloween party and I want to be there.

It’ll be good to get back to where I once belonged. It’s been quite a while since I made a trip back. October in Michigan is pretty fan-fucking-tastic too. Cider Mills…Greasy Doughnuts…Haunted (crack) Houses…Friends and Family…It’s gonna ROCK!

I’m pretty sure we were all still in High School when this shot was taken. I have no idea what we were…I think we were all some sort of zombie dead bleeding things(I’m pretty sure that was the costume of choice every year). I remember part of Jeff’s costume was that he wear his wrist watch up high on his elbow/forearm. It was the special touches that really made the costumes work, ya know. LOL We all still look the same no?

If you all knew just how this picture above has me laughing to the point where I can’t breathe. I think I’m going to go through the old pictures and pull out some crazy ones…might make for better storytelling about the old Michigan days.

Ah…I do miss just hanging out with friends. We always seemed to have fun no matter where we were.

Damn shame we don’t have Big Boys in Hollywood…Or maybe it’s for the best?

I mentioned in the last post that we played our last game of the hockey season, but I’m not sure If I mentioned that I’ll be playing in some televised tournament over Labor Day weekend. I don’t have all the details on it…But I looked at the schedule and our team has a game at 8am on one of the days. I’m not sure if it’s humanly possible to play ice hockey at 8am???

Anyway, this tournament thing goes on all weekend and we play 4 games minimum and if we win, we get to take home a shiny cup. We’re competing against 16 other teams from across the country who are all flying in to LA. Should be interesting…And maybe even fun

Tonight at 10pm we have a practice down in Lakewood–I guess no one wants to look bad on TV? Shame they didn’t mind looking bad during the regular season

I’m still shocked at how quickly this month and Summer FLEW bye. Of course, on the other hand, time has been playing tricks on me these last months. One second seems to zoom …And then It seems to drag on and on. It’s slightly confusing and hard to explain. I do keep waiting for lighting to strike my Flux Capacitor. I know I feel as if I’ve been moving at 88 mph for quite a while…I’m ready.

I do like the Fall though..It’s quickly becoming my favorite season. I know living in Southern California the weather doesn’t change too much…But people seem to rev up their RPM’s in Autumn and release the clutch. I’m not sure about anyone else, but I know I usually feel more focused this time of year.

Today’s been relatively calm. I’ve been busy but only doing things not worth mentioning.

I must have had about 30 or so emails from folks who commented on yesterday’s blog telling me that I should have crashed Burt’s party Thinking about it now, I guess it would have made for a more interesting journal entry. Ah well…

We lost our hockey game last night…but only by a goal. All in all, it was a well-played game. I think the score was 5 to 4. It was our final game of this season and I ended up ranking #3 on our team. I’ll take #3 any day considering most of the guys on my team have been skating on the ice since they were sperm. I guess being from Michigan , It makes me a natural born ice skater? That, and Rapper LOL

Did I ever mention that my old band used to be managed by a guy who used to manage Kid Rock? Seriously…long before Kid Rock even considered being dumped by Pamela Anderson…we shared the same Manager. We never had a signed contract or anything but he just liked some of our songs we had recorded in the Detroit days and got our band a few little write-ups in a few Michigan papers…came to a few shows, booked us at some crazy loft-party (where I ended up being carried out in my underwear–the good ol’ days)…Etc.

The end result in all that was that Steve(the Manager guy) told me “dude, you need to lose your band“…of course I thought he was high at the time and then he went on to make Kid Rock a super star. Smart move on my part huh? Steve and I have remained “old school acquaintances” and the last time I met up with him was back in 2001. I believe he now lives in Chicago. Anyway…Not sure why this came to mind, but it just did. I guess I just wanted to point out my keen sense of business skills LOL

By the way…He’s no longer Rock’s manager…I think it all ended in a law suit. Ah…ya gatta love the music business huh?

Last night’s party was pretty much everything you would expect a 90210 house on top of a hill would be like. I’m pretty sure everyone there was either an actor or music person. Some EXTREMELY GOOD LOOKING people (for those into "people watching")….but I would expect nothing less since Dana(who’s birthday party it was) is a 6′1 super model actor beauty!

Dana’s done quite a bit of work…She even played Matthew McConaughey’s girlfriend in one of his older movies.

The house was INCREDIBLE…I didn’t take pictures of the house but I did manage to get this one of the pool and some of the folks there as the party was just starting.

You can’t really tell from the photo, but the view looks out over Los Angeles. Inside the house is a recording studio. It was hard NOT to drool at the place. Dana’s boyfriend, Tim Truman who did the music for "Melrose Place, "Miami Vice," "Providence" and a ton of other TV and movies was the one who hosted the party. I’m also told that Michael Bay who directed "The Island" was there but I did not meet him.

However, I did meet a couple people I spent some time chatting with… A music producer named Clark Germain, who seemed very cool and down to earth [most musician/producer types are]…and executive producer Jay Boccia [from Notorious247]. Jay only spends about 3 months of the year here in Los Angeles and the rest of the time he’s jaunting off to one place or another. Sounds like a glamorous life actually but I’m sure it can get to be a bit wearing. Those guys were pretty cool.

The funniest part of the night was on the way out. Burt Reynolds lives across the street and was having a party at the same time… So parking was sort of a bitch(even though they had valet for both parties). Anyway…I had to stop my friend from walking into Burt’s house and crashing his party(we were joking about it just before leaving Dana’s). He started to walk into Burt’s house and no one was stopping him but I kept thinking how silly we’d feel once we got inside. We probably should have done it just so I’d have more to blog about today. I guess I’ll have to wait for an "official" invite from Burt. [Burt, email me...Let's do lunch] LOL

I know I’m leaving some of the finer details out but all in all..It was a good night and I’m glad I went.

I’d like to save you all 2 hours of your life. Last night I watched the movie “The Ring Two” and have decided it’s ranks down there as one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.

I sort of enjoyed the 1st one and its concept about people who watch a supernaturally cursed videotape only to die a week later(unless of course they make a copy of the tape and force someone else to watch it–talk about a chain letter).

I’m normally a fan of scary movies ..even the campy ones that are so cheesy you can’t help but laugh. That being said…This Ring Two movie I watched could have actually been the videotape that kills people…I just about died of boredom watching it. I REALLY wanted to like it…The acting was good…as was the general look…It’s just that the story and pace could easily put someone into a coma. It’s really THAT bad.

There were only 2 scenes I enjoyed in this movie:

1. The CGI Deer attacking the car [cut to the girl's foot freaking out and forgetting where the gas pedal is-please!] …And…
2. The gal making her son a peanut butter and sleeping pill sandwich (yummy!)

Thanks to folks who emailed me in regards to yesterday’s post. We all get frustrated…I’m no different. I’ll try to hold off on speaking in riddles for a while though. I woke up today realizing a few things and feeling pretty good.

The main thing that I reminded myself of is …There’s no reason to get worked up over things I have no control over. Easier said than done coming from someone who is a slight control freak like myself. Yes..It’s true, I like to be in charge of my life. I don’t look at this as a bad thing. It’s just learning to let things go is the tricky part.

I’m a strong believer that if you want something, you have to go out and make it happen. One door closes on you…Either pick the lock, break in through a window, or try another house to break into. It’s just hard not to get a little jaded living in Hollywood…It seems like too many places share the same interior decorator and it’s not that pretty inside.– Far from “home”.

Anyway, I’ve rambled off-subject again. Mainly…I just wanted to say I was blogging at a bad moment and I’ll now go back to being Mr. Optimistic.

Lastly, I hope I didn’t offend other bloggers out there(that wasn’t the intent). There’s certainly nothing wrong with using a journal for venting… I’d say it might even be healthy. Though, I’ll admit I tend to only read the occasional gripe here and there…The continuous ones, I just skip. Negative-ness seems contagious…It’s a B.T.D. (blog-ually transmitted disease) I do not wish to catch

Anyway… It’s Friday…The sun is up…The sky is blue[humming "Dear Prudence"]…All is well.

You know that silly saying about looking at the glass half empty or half full right? I’m thinking that someone needs to make a 3rd option. Something like "The glass is totally full…It’s just filled with shit is all".

I try to be an easy going person and I usually handle stress pretty well but it seems the older I get, the less time I want to spend dealing with bullshit. Yeah, I know most of my posts are usually cotton candy-who wants to appear bitter and mean anyway? Thing is…is that after seeing the magic shows over and over…You begin to see the wires, strings, smoke and mirrors and it’s just not fun to watch anymore. The freaky sideshow seems more entertaining than what’s going on Center Stage.

Yeah, yeah…we all have our bad days and good days. I’m just feeling cranky at the moment. Why? Perhaps It’s just my turn.

I read quite a few other journals on a daily basis and I often wish I could be as open as some of the ones I read but the main thing I notice….is that MOST blogs are just RANTS and bitching. Perhaps people vent their frustrations in their journal as a therapeutic release. Me? I just beat around the bush….Like I’m doing now

Hmmm…I’m feeling a bit like I’ve written myself into a corner. What is this post all about anyway? Who knows…I’m not going to try and figure it out though. I need to watch TV and turn off my brain.

Ok, I now have a little Mohawk. I still need to have it cleaned up a little bit since I shaved it myself and it’s a little hard to see the back of my head(I’ll get that cleaned up tonight). No, this isn’t the 1st Mohawk I’ve had…I’m pretty sure I’ve have every hair style there is and just about every color.

A while back I was talking to my hockey-mate Rufus (who happens to be in London for some sort of work thing right now) and I told him I was going to do the Mohawk…He seemed quite excited about it so I just made a little video message to him so he could have a quick look. After, I thought I should have just made a universal message to everyone but I’m going to be lazy and just post my Video Message to Rufus and not deal with making a bunch of clips.

Last night, we beat the 1st place hockey team 6 to 3. It was quite glorious actually. I had 3 assists and our team was on fire. If we win next Sunday’s game, we’re in the playoffs.

Also, I’ll be playing in a hockey tournament over labor day weekend. It’ll be televised and should be good fun. We’ll be competing against 16 other teams from across the country and there’s a fancy banquet and all that…It all sounds like fun to me.

I’m still stoked that we had such a great game last night. The team we stomped was NOT used to losing. I don’t think they knew what hit ‘em
