Many things come to mind when I think of July 4th. Fireworks, BBQ’s, Pool Parties, the smell of sparklers, summertime, sunburns, sweating, music, Frisbees, hack sacks, movies, drinking…These are just a few things that I think of around this time of year.. Growing up in Michigan, another part of our July 4th was being sprayed with a can of OFF bug spray.-now there’s a smell I don’t miss. Thankfully, in LA we don’t have to worry about Mosquitoes. [The only thing sucking us dry here is landlords and gas prices].

Well…Last night I was watching the news and they showed a clip of the fireworks as they were happening at Mount Rushmore.

I thought “WOW, I wish I was there to see that!”

I actually had the chance to see Mount Rushmore as I drove through South Dakota in the summer of my 19th year. It wasn’t over the 4th of July but even without all the fireworks, It’s really one of the most amazing landmarks I’ve ever seen. We see it on TV and think “oh, that’s nice” but seeing it in person is just fucking amazing! One day I hope to be there for the 4th to see it with fireworks. Seriously, this place is surreal!

I leave for Vegas tomorrow for a few days. I’ll be there for my birthday with 120 degree weather. I think I’ll just hang out by the pool and try not to melt
