I ended up catching War of the Worlds last night. It was a totally unplanned movie trip though I toyed with the idea of going to see it this weekend…Only to talk myself out of it because of all the people. At about 9pm or so, I went anyway.

The line to see it was just as I imagined. The 11pm show started lining up at about 9:30pm and by 10:30pm it was about a block long. Ok, I have to admit, there is something fun about seeing a movie with a packed house on the 4th of July weekend. I don’t want to give away anything about the movie but as far as movies about the world getting destroyed by aliens, I’d say this ranks as my second favorite, right after Independence Day. Now that I think about it, what other movies are there where aliens destroy Earth? In any case… I enjoyed the movie. I wasn’t expecting anything more than what I saw so I wasn’t let down.

Oh, I should mention that the preview for the new King Kong movie looks incredible! And while we’re on the movie subject…Fantastic Four on July 8th
