Wednesday Thoughts
Wednesday, April 20th, 2005It seems like a nice day. Sitting here in my apartment I hear the traffic from Sunset Blvd.–sometimes the noise really gets to me but I’m still quite happy with the apartment. The good thing about the noise just means that I can make noise myself and not worry about annoying a neighbor by playing the piano…Etc. Mostly, I’m just cranking iTunes so that helps. Right now I’m listening to Linda Ronstadt with The Stone Poneys “Different Drum”. GREAT SONG!
Back to the apartment, a few people have emailed wanting to see a video tour with all my stuff in it rather than the walk-through I did when I 1st got the key. Well…Sorry to disappoint but there’s really not too much in it. I did get a big Home Depot rug to cover the wooden floor a while back but mostly so it would deaden the sound coming in and out. Other than that, I live with just a desk, laptop (with a high speed connection of course) piano, guitar, and TV. There’s really not too much to show other than my futon(which I’m now using as a couch).
How about after I make my 1st gazillion dollars and buy my 13 bathroom mansion that’s decorated by some highly skilled person who knows what they’re doing, I’ll have it set up with cameras in every room so online viewers can peek in anytime they wish? Well…Not EVERY room
On to last night’s American Idol thoughts…
It seemed pretty obvious that Bo came out on top even though the song he did wasn’t really “70’s DANCE music“…I really LOVE songs from the 70’s but I’m really not a huge fan of the dance tunes other than a few Bee Gees songs. Speaking of Bee Gees, I like the song that Constantine did but I think he should have picked a more popular song of theirs. Perhaps “More Than a Woman”…even better he could have easily knocked one out of the park with Andy Gibb’s “I Just Want to Be Your Everything”. I sort of liked the fact that he was wearing crazy eye makeup –seemed like he was having fun with the genre. I don’t think he’ll be booted tonight but he might be in the bottom three.
I think everyone would love to see Scott go though I think he’ll probably be around another week. His confidence well exceeds his ability but he keeps picking good songs. Carrie would have done well belting out ABBA’s “Dancing Queen“…I think she’ll be in the bottom three tonight(sorry Carrie).
Anwar, picked a great Earth Wind and Fire song but he sounded a little pitchy to me. I have a feeling he might end up going tonight. I just think people might look at him the same way I looked at Bo when he sang Free Bird. Mainly, I don’t think he pulled it off. It could go two ways…
1. People might vote for him just for singing the song cause Earth Wind and Fire rock.
2. People will think “how dare he sing that and not do it perfectly?!?!”
I’m not sure about the rest of the singers…I think it was a tough category for them all and it wasn’t a very entertaining show in general. Truth be told, the only reason I watch the show now is to watch Paula and try to guess what sort of medication she’s on.
