“I’m SO Blogging this”

Pictured above from left to right- Chris, Me, and Glenn..oh and Val[not pictured but holding the camera, as usual]
Chris is a really talented editor who works for the show Entertainment Tonight and Glenn worked at the Disney office in Burbank and he’s also been producing a film these last few months. Chris has been kind enough to help out in the past by taping some live performances of mine…some of those clips can be seen in the live clips of songs like “Still In Love” and “My Door” in the Video section of the High Speed site….maybe even some on the Intro Video Montage [I'm starting to lose track of who taped what and when].
Anyway, the title on this entry just shows how addicted I’ve become to Blogging, Journaling, Documenting…and writing in general. At one point at dinner, I found myself actually saying “I’m SO Blogging this tomorrow!”. Of course that started a whole conversation about the whole blogging phenomenon and I got all fired up while talking about it—yeah, I know…I’m a geeky blogger and I’m not ashamed to admit it
And so…we started our night off at The Coffee Bean and walked down to have dinner at some corner restaurant. It was a new place that served Cuban or Brazilian style food though the menu really didn’t seem to have much on it.
During our 20 minute wait at the bar for a table, I ran into another friend Stan who was out having dinner with some of his friends. Stan’s a VP over at Universal [not the theme park--though he was super helpful with the hook up on VIP passes when my sister and mother came to town a while back]–thanks Stan
OK, now I’m just name-dropping and getting off subject.
So where did I leave off? Oh yes…so after about 20 minutes, we get seated and our waiter comes over and asks to take our order. I look on the menu…and see some sort of chicken breast and say “I’ll have that”….Val then mentions to the waiter, as he knows I’m a picky eater, oh make sure there’s no onions on his plate[yes, I hate onions]. The waiter then tells me that it’s marinated in onions. STRIKE THAT.
“Ok, so what do you sell here that does not have onions in it?”
As it turns out….EVERYTHING they served had onions on it AND since everything was marinated ahead of time…..there was nothing on the menu I was willing to eat. After all that, we ended up leaving and going to another place which actually seemed like it had a better menu.
The funny thing is…the waiter from the first place told me(after going back and asking the cook several times) that they could make me a chicken breast but that it would take 20 extra minutes. Um…I think I could have walked up to the supermarket, bought a chicken and cooked it myself in less time. I mean, how long does it take to cook chicken for god sakes???!!??!? I know I’m a picky eater…but I’m not usually SO PICKY to the point where I can’t find ONE SINGLE thing on a menu that I won’t eat. That was actually a 1st for me.
I DO believe that there is an onion conspiracy going on…those of us out there who hate onions need to start a club of some sort. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to have something without onions… ESPECIALLY at a place where you’re actually PAYING to have them cook for you.
Anyway…It was a fun night. One of these days I’ll make of a list of all the things I refuse to eat. It’ll have to be a special blog dedicated to just that. I got a feeling it’ll be a pretty long blog
