Yeah…It’s a Tattoo on my neck. No, it’s not real….I’m not that cool. This is just one of the shots taken last week while trying to do some “character shots” and to show some other sort of expression other than my normal charming and delightful self
At the moment, I’m about 4 or 5 days of Grubby Unshaved Bob…It takes me longer to grow a beard and things like that. Hell, i don’t think i even started shaving [regularly] until i turned 22. Lots of things happened at 22, but we won’t get into that
Let’s just say I was a late bloomer.
Someone emailed me yesterday and asked something like “what’s it like to have your whole life on a webpage?” I’m pretty sure it was meant to be said as an admiration that i seem pretty open and honest about the things i write about. Truth is, I don’t write about EVERYTHING
I do keep some things personal or I’ll send out little hidden messages that the average reader might not pick up on, but the person i want to know has it figured out.
I’ll give my Top Five reasons why I Blog [in no particular order]:
1. I really love to write, even if it’s silly or campy day to day things.2. It helps to release thoughts. Not that i think anyone’s going to look back someday and say “wow, he wrote some really interesting and profound stuff”…I’m not out to change the world here. Rather just to leave a mark and say “Hey everyone, I was here”.
3. Blogging keeps people coming back…And being a starving artist of the sort, i need all the exposure i can get.
4. The Journal gives people a look into the way my brain works… And it helps me understand myself at times. Sometimes thinking things through and writing it down can be EXTREMELY therapeutic–just as songwriting is to me.
5. Other than just documenting my own life, the journal is a nice way for friends and family to keep in touch and see what’s happening in my life. Many times I’ve written the exact same email to friends back home or other places and just changed the name. I know this way seems a little impersonal but I try my best to keep up with emails as well. I’m no stranger to the phone either -as my Cell bill shows.
I’ve come to figure out a majority of people who ask “hey, how are you?” … They really don’t want to know(I’m guilty of that myself at certain times). And the ones that really do care…Well, when you find those people, they’re KEEPERS!
And so… How ever do I end my rainy Friday blog besides complain that I’m not going to get to play tennis again today?? Hmmm…How about just like this?
