My Oscar Thoughts

-This post has been edited-

Well, now I’ve gone and done it. I’ve officially went “blog crazy“. If you notice, I’ve added little square links to other blogger tools and such in the last few days. Yesterday, i did an AUDIO BLOG by phone.
Everyone seemed to LOVE the phone post. It just shows that I’m a scatterbrain blubbering fool on the phone sometimes. I have great plans for future phone posts though… Like perhaps me checking the messages on my voicemail. Or I could call up and record all the numbers on Paris Hilton’s Blackberry phonebook…The possibilities are endless LOL
Oscars tonight….I have the TiVo set…I’ll have to check it out after tonight’s hockey game. I’m not nominated for anything so I guess it’s ok if i miss them

I guess I’ll have to wait until I finish going through puberty to be able to grow a “real beard”
Hey wait…Maybe this is it. :-\ I figure by the time I’m 50 years old, I should be able to start looking like the distinguished Ernest Hemingway’s, Sigmund Freud’s and Sean Connery’s of the world. Or perhaps I’ll never be able to obtain that “look”….I guess time will tell, but for now…I’m going to shave today
I really don’t do the “bearded look” that well. It’s very patchy and scraggly…Though I’ve never been a hairy person to begin with. Taking into consideration I didn’t start shaving regularly until I was about 22 and that I have about 15 chest hairs [and each of them named, by the way] I guess this is as close I’m going to get.
I think to really get a different look I may need a new hair style or cut. Maybe that’ll be next. Maybe I’ll let it grow …Ah, too bad these types of things weren’t my only major decisions I had to make in life
Off Subject, I got a really nice email today in regards to my American Idol post yesterday saying:
Hi Bob![]()
I think you are a lot more talented than the average idol contestant. I don’t know an awful lot about American idol but the little I have seen of it was dreadful………However I have seen a lot more of the U.K. versions and almost all of the contestants (with just one exception) are never heard of again so I would say you have had a narrow escape. The show is all about exploiting and humiliating young hopefuls in the name of public entertainment while making people like Simon Cowall multi millionaires. Sorry about the rant but you are in a different league altogether.
Hugs!

Hi Mary…This email brought a huge smile…Thanks!
I was actually considering auditioning for this CBS American Idol type show called INXS Rockstar. Today’s actually the cut off and I’ve decided against it. The exposure would be real nice but I have a feeling these types of shows do more harm than good. I suppose for the one person that does make it, it’s going to be real nice. The main thing, I just don’t see myself as the next lead singer of the band INXS.
The one thing I thought was more interesting about the audition for this show was that they encouraged people to try out with original material. I’ll be sure to tune into this show when it airs though…Curiosity ya know
Well…This is Oscar weekend in Hollywood. Sunday’s the big night at the Kodak Theater. I live about a mile away from it…Close enough to walk even. Too bad I have a hockey game on Sunday…It might have been fun to do a little video reporting from the Oscars
Perhaps next time.
I found out today that someone i met last year is now on the show American Idol. The fellow named Constantine… The one who’s the “rock guy with long hair” was playing the role of Roger in the touring company of the production “Rent”. I was flown out to Vegas to meet the cast and see the show sometime last year and talked to him a little then, but not too much.
I hope he wins. It’d put a nice dent in their cookie-cutter Star Search singer mode.

Hmmm. I have a feeling Michael’s going to be singing Jail House Rock. Like many of you all, i just know what i hear on the TV and news [which we all know is never wrong in how they report things].
Keeping in mind that this is huge ratings for anyone with a Michael Jackson scoop. And so, I figured my website could use some ratings as well by posting my 2 degrees of Michael Jackson Separation

Maybe I’ll get called to be a witness????
“we say FRY HIM!”
Kidding of course…I’m allowed to be silly ya know
I did watch that 20/20 with Corey Feldman a few weeks ago and wasn’t really sure what to think. Corey told ABC:
“If you consider it inappropriate for a man to look at a book of naked pictures with a child that’s 13 or 14 years old — then your answer would be ‘yes,’ ”
Jackson? I still have no idea what to think. It seems pretty obvious the guy’s a little off his rocker in general but I’ve always thought that Jackson wants everyone to think he’s freaky.
And now…
Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville announced, “We have a jury” before noon on Wednesday, February 23rd.
The panel includes four men and eight women, ranging in age from 20 to 79. Seven are white, four are Hispanic and one is Asian. None of the selected jurors are African-American. So much for a jury of his own peers. Of course, is anyone really sure what would be considered a peer of Jackson’s?
In any event, it doesn’t look good for MJ. I still think the parents of these kids need to be skinned alive with a carrot scraper and thrown into a salt mine. Punishment for pimping out their kids.
———————-End of Michael Jackson thoughts for now——————-
Did I mention that yesterday on my way down to Orange County on the 5 Freeway…Someone smashed into my truck from behind? That sucked! I ended up with a dented bumper and my neck’s a little sore but I’ll live.
Not much time to write at the moment and i doubt I’ll have any time later today since I’ll either be on the road or making noise with Kevin. It’s been a while since Kev and I have made music together but I’m looking forward to it.
Looks like we caught a break in the rain…But it’ll probably rain tonight. Speaking of tonight…Smallville’s on but I’ll have to catch the TiVo of it.
Ok…Got lots to say and on the mind, just no time to blog it. More tomorrow
“Because here at Bank of Bob, we know how to spend your money”
Ok, I clean up just fine…This was another shot from that fun session of “dress up”. Yes, those are my real Clark Kent glasses. Without the glasses i can’t see…i see just fine at close range but anything over an arm’s length away and it’s just a blur. Luckily, I’ve only been wearing glasses for about 4 or 5 years. Most of my life, I’ve been lucky and have had perfect vision. I never even realized i needed them until i kept passing streets while driving that i was supposed to turn at…i wasn’t able to read the damn signs until i passed ‘em
Frustrated me enough to go for an eye check up.
Just before playing hockey, i realized I’d need contacts to play so I’m a newbie at sticking my finger in my eye–there’s a trick to it without feeling like one of the Three Stooges. What’s really a trip is to put your glasses on right after you put your contacts in…It’s THEN that you realize just how BLIND you really are.
Oh, last night’s hockey game? We lost 4 to 2….But i scored 1 goal and had 1 assist. All in all, i showed up in pain from the practice the night before so i started off feeling beat…It was a good game but i feel i could have played a better game, as well as the rest of our team. Next week
Today?…It’s still raining. I’m thinking about walking…i mean white water rafting down to the corner 7-11 and buying a bag full of junk food.
Ok…I do like thunderstorms …And rain is nice once in a while, but 4 or 5 days of rain, not to mention a few more days of it to come and I’m ready for some sunshine please! I know, it beats SNOW.
I woke up feeling sore from last night’s hockey practice which almost didn’t happen due to some rink manager who told us we weren’t supposed to be there.
The moral to this little story? It pays to not be the 1st person to show up…..be fashionably late
RAINIY California day? Tonight I have hockey practice from 9pm to 11pm and I also have friend in town who’s birthday is today. Happy Rainy Southern California Birthday Michael!
Oh…Before I forget, did anyone happen to watch Saturday Night Live last night with guest Hillary Swank? I’m so happy that i happened to catch the skit of J-Lo -”later that night at the Grammys”. Man, I was in TEARS! It’s just nice to know that I wasn’t the only one to point out how OUT OF KEY her singing was. I have a feeling that performance is going to haunt her for quite a while.
