…I can not remember what made us think that we were wise and we’d never compromise.

Some of you might recognize the line from a song called “The Freshmen” by a fellow Michigan band called The Verve Pipe. Anyway, I’ve always liked like these guys. My old band Moisture was on two old compilation CDs with them…. One called “Yikes: So This is a Compilation #5″(9/15/95) as well as the Detroit’s Musician’s Alliance “United We Jam”. It was pretty obvious back then that these guys were going to go to the next level of music success. They made it pretty big for a few years and then it seems like they just vanished. Anyway…I’d highly recommend you all to pick their “Platinum & Gold Collection” CD or iTune a few tracks. I relate the most to the song called “Colorful”…It’s a manic depressive’s wet dream! I can’t seem to stop listening to the whole CD. Brian Vander Ark is quite an incredible frontman and songwriter!

*If anyone knows where I can get a copy of the Yikes CD, let me know. A friend of mine borrowed the disc about 6 years ago. I later learned that he committed suicide by hanging himself–not sure it would have been such a good idea for me to be calling his family asking to search through his stuff for a lousy CD. I know, … It’s a morbid story…But I’ve searched online and it seems like this disc can’t be found.

OK…No more morbid thoughts[written, at least]. Today’s Saturday and I’m feeling pretty good. Doing some online work and thinking about heading out for a quick Chai Tea Latte.

Yes…Friday…I’m fried…And so..I’m taking the day off from “Journaling”…Yesterday I did 2 entries so that should make up for missing today ay??

Good stories are worth waiting for…Right?
These last few days have been somewhat busy… Ah hell…What day isn’t busy?

ok ok ok ok ….Well…Smallville is on and I just hope that lousy gal who’s playing Lois doesn’t show up

I really need to get one of those fancy Dare Devil Chambers.

For those of you who have not seen Marvel’s Dare Devil movie with Ben Affleck(or read the comic), it’s about a guy who gets blinded by toxic chemicals and his other senses develop into a “super power”…Example: His hearing is like a bat’s radar, where even though he’s blind, he can still see. And so because his other senses are so in tune with the surroundings he has to sleep in a coffin-like water chamber to stop the outside noises. [Critics dogged on this movie but I happened to really love it.]

Anyway…Anyone know where I can pick up one of these sleeping chambers??? Normally, I don’t have any troubles sleeping through hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes but the last two days the traffic’s been really getting to me.

Last night’s Super Hero “Hall of Justice” party was swanky-cool! Everyone seemed very friendly …especially considering I had only met 1 of the hosts a few nights before at the Key Club and knew only one other person there to start. Other than everyone being very nice and not “stuffy” like a few other parties I’ve attended, the whole super hero theme was [spoken in my surfer tone] RAD!

The guys had a projector of some sort playing old cool episodes of The Super Friends and the Legion of Doom on one of the walls…and I was flashing back to being a kid. I so loved those cartoons. On another wall it looked like what seemed to be LP’s from a distance…but then I was told “No, those are Comics“…the whole wall was neatly covered in comics to where all you could see was the spine of the thin books–easily confused as LPs from not too far away[I think most were DC but I didn't get a good look].

Some of the folks where dressed in Superman, Green Lantern T-shirts and on the table filled with munchies where what looked like Robin Masks….although for some reason when I put one on, I looked like I was doing some sort of S&M thing In any event, I really enjoyed myself and meeting everyone.

I’ve got a hockey game tonight at 7:30pm in Lakewood…Lakewood’s not too far but the last few games I’ve been showing up late. Unintentional of course. I blame traffic …it so damn unpredictable here in Los Angeles….Tonight’s plan is to be ON TIME…early even!

Well…here’s a very rough draft of the video edit of Somebody New (the rock version). The version on the CD is just a guitar and vocal… This one is full band. The video clips are taken from the live show at the Key Club but the audio was so distorted I decided to just match up this (or try to)–there’s a few spots that need to be more N-sinc.

Anyway….Watching this is sort of an idea of how the show looked

I was planning on spending today working on editing some video from the show but I got caught up doing some other stuff and before I knew it, like 4 hours just flew by. I hate when that happens. :-\
