It’s been freezing here…Well…As cold as it gets here. It’s funny to watch the Californians pull out their heavy duty winter coats in the bitter cold of 50 degrees

Up until October and November I was happy with the amount of steady hits my website was getting but I’m seriously SUPER AMAZED at they way it’s jumped up these last 2 months. And is this all because I started writing a daily Blog? Perhaps it’s because I added that 1st Video Diary around Halloween? [That thing was passed around and ended up being some really great exposure for me--a pleasant surprise].

Whatever the case, I need make sure I continue with the daily blog and prepare for Video Diary #2. Originally, I was going to go to the mall on the Friday after Thanksgiving and interview folks and see what brings them out at that day to shop, what the big selling gift is this year, or something along those lines but my Camera Man already had a few shoots that day and so VD#2 never was contracted

I’ll try to come up with a fun idea for the next Video Diary though..And soon!

I forgot to mention that I now have hockey injury #2. The first was a bruised/broken rib…And now, I seem to have twisted my knee. All I know is my leg twisted but my skate didn’t. I’m limping a little now but I’ll be fine in a few days..The pain seems to be going away pretty quickly but I’m starting to feel like an old man. Getting older SUX!

I need to find myself a 12 step program to stop playing this video game called X-Men “Legends”. It’s probably the most addictive game I’ve ever played. I know this Blog entry is going to sound like a commercial for this game…But it’s just fantastic!

Made by Activision, the same wonderful people who brought us the old Atari 2600 game Pitfall, X-Men Legends is by far the best game I’ve ever played.



To anyone who knows anything about Playstation 2 games… Legends reminds me of the Final Fantasy games…Sort of like a Dungeons and Dragons thing but better.

The website of X-men-Legends.com is really worth checking out. It’ll give you all an idea of my latest addiction. This game should really come with a warning label!

Last night a fellow Hockey teammate(Rufus) and I went out for coffee and after he came over and installed this super swanky graphics program on my laptop. This is one of those programs I think I could mess around with for 20 years and still not know everything there is to know.

The program’s called Poser and I imported 2 photos of myself …One head on and one profile. The result was a 3D model of me…It’s a little creepy but very cool! Here’s a little animated clip I just exported.

Today I have to be down in Harbor City at 3pm for a hockey scrimmage. Should be fun.

Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon singing and recording a little QuickTime clip of a song called Little Hercules…Mainly, I was having fun with the song. It still needs work though…But it might be kind of nice to show a before and after, like on a DVD or something

Well… I have to get running here and slap the puck around.

Well…I thought I was going to miss an entry today but it looks like I have 10 minutes before I turn into a pumpkin. Better yet…Pumpkin pie!!!

I ended up getting some bird last night…Watched some movies and avoided the malls today

..Oh wait, that’s supposed to be build instead of buy.

I had been thinking about going back to Michigan for one of these Holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas but also dreading the whole traveling part of it. And so, after talking with my mom I decided that my Holiday gift this year would be to buy Mom and Sis a trip out to CA. And so, they arrive on December 6th and fly back to Winter Wonderland on December 11th. I miss Thanksgiving and Christmas with family, but they get to have a nice break away between both holidays. Interestingly enough, it was cheaper to fly BOTH of them here than it would have been for me to fly back there for Christmas.

Today is Monday and though I haven’t really had a busy day, I feel like I have. Hollyweird’s weather has cooled off a little… To about as cold as it ever gets here. It almost reminds me of a Michigan Fall only without the smell of Apple Cider Mills and fresh greasy cinnamon Doughnuts in the air. Oh how I miss those Cider Mills!

Well…Not much to report today. We lost our Hockey game last night[And I was ACTUALLY EARLY!] but for the 1st two periods we were ahead by 2 and then in the 3rd the opposing team scored SIX goals! The final score was 3 to 6. Regardless, I felt like it was a great game. Saturday afternoon I’ll be at the 3pm hockey Scrimmage in Harbor City. Should be fun. I’m really enjoying this sport…I feel tired and a little sore afterwards but it’s a good feeling-hard to explain. Perhaps it’s because I KNOW if I wasn’t out there doing this, I’d be here looking at my computer screen getting a tanning booth computer burn.

My plans for the day? Well, I have to be down in Lakewood for a Hockey game at 7:30pm. I’m carpooling with one of the other teammates—it looks like my chances of being ON TIME are going to increase! Last week, I thought I actually might be on time until I realized that I had passed the exit. I felt like such a fool…It was as if the vehicle was on autopilot and was programmed wrongly.

Traffic here in Southern California is too easy to bitch about but even worse than traffic is the way the exit and on ramps are laid out. Growing up in states with freeways that makes sense has spoiled me. What I mean by that is… Let’s say I exit in Michigan at Telegraph Road off the 94 freeway…Once you get off, you can easily turn around and go east or west…Signs are easy to see and most of the ramps are set up in a similar way. Well…Believe it or not, some exits here off of California’s hectic 405 freeway, if you exit, you CAN’T GET BACK ON! Sometimes it spits you out and you have to HUNT for the on ramp…And THEN you’re lucky if it’s the correct direction. Not all exits on the 405 are like this but I’m pretty sure most of California’s freeways were designed by a bunch of hippies on an acid trip. It’s the only thing I can think of that will explain how crazy some of these freeways are. Once you add a billion vehicles all moving at 10 miles an hour, depending on the time of day, you have one giant PARKING LOT.

Let’s not forget the Diamond Lanes/Carpool Lanes! For those who don’t have this in their state…It’s a lane that’s suppose to encourage people to carpool by only allowing 2 or more people in one car to drive in it(also motorcycles). Well…Sometimes these lanes are a huge help but for the most part they just fuck traffic up even more. Since the carpool lanes are on the inner left lanes and all exits are on the right, if you’re driving in it and need to exit it’s quite tricky to blinker your way through a sea of single driver cars. A person needs to be a SUPER AGGRESSIVE driver here.

Another TRIPPY legal traffic law here is that motorcycles are allowed to drive in-between two other cars. I’m told that traffic has to be moving slower than 45 miles per hour in order for motorcycles to be allowed to legally drive between 2 cars that are side by side….BUT I’ve seen 2 wheelers slide through at MUCH higher speeds. The idea is to encourage people to drive cycles because they pollute the air less. It’s dangerous anyway you look at it.

Actually, driving out here isn’t SO bad but I try to do as little of it as possible. And if I do, it’s only at certain hours of the day.

I should also mention that there’s about 100 Freeways here in California…One might think it would be easy to get lost but once you figure out that going north takes you to Sacramento…South to San Diego…West to the Ocean…And East to the mountains, it’s pretty hard to get lost. But god help you if you pass and Exit
