Years have come and gone
My trip’s gone by pretty fast…by this time next week, i’ll be back home.
It’s been a fun trip so far…there’s people that I STILL haven’t seen and there’s people that I probably won’t get to see (i’m trying though).
I’ve made a point to stop by my sister’s each time i’m on that side of town. Her kids are growing SO fast…and to me, since I’m only here every couple years…it seems even faster….watching them get older makes me feel old as hell.
Yesterday, I had lunch with my mom AND my dad…this is only the 2nd time in my life that i can remember my folks being in the same room with each other…trippy. And me? I turned into a 5 year old kid, not knowing what to say. I’m hardly ever at a loss for words but that wasn’t the case yesterday. I’m even sort of stumped on writing about it…lotza thoughts about it all though but none I really want to say.
I can’t stress how strange it is being back here again…this trip more than any other has made me feel much older. Maybe it’s because I am ![]()

You feel older… no surprise… but do you feel WISER?
Have a wonderful time seeing how all your classmates have gone to seed, while you have remained young and beautiful.
wiser? hmm…yeah..i think so but i feel more like i wasn’t as smart as i thought i was years ago
I guess that’s the same thing eh?
WOW! That must have been trippy having lunch with BOTH of them TOGETHER! I’m sure your head is spinning with thoughts but don’t let them interfere with your trip dear heart! Enjoy yourself!
Love & Hugs, Your CA mom!
I just hope you come back refreshed, with fond memories and a renewed positive outlook on your future. And age is all relative. Remember when you were twelve and thought thirty is old? Remember when you were eighteen and still thought thirty was old? Now, to me, being thirty five, fifty, sixty, hell, eighty seems old.
Cool about your parents being civil enough to have lunch together with you. That alone must be worth the trip.
Hugs!
isn’t 30 still old???
heheheh
ok..well maybe not
You are such a positive person! GREAT attitude dear heart! Have a great time & as you well know, age is only a state of mind!! Tee Hee! That’s why I am still 35!! (NOT!!!)
Hugs!
I can relate. I turned 50 in june and man I feel ancient. I should say my body feels old. Inside my head I’m still 18. The golden years my A@#. LOL! Glad you had a great time back there. I have fond memories of Agate hunting on the shore of Lake Superior as a kid. Hope to see you again live soon.
