Life- On Hold
Today’s the 1st day that I feel OK since having my appendix removed. I still get tired pretty fast but I’m pretty sure the worst is over. I don’t think I’ll be playing hockey any time soon… but I am feeling like I just might live
That was some scary stuff though.
I have three little marks on my belly where they cut into me but I don’t think it’ll leave any sort of disfiguring scars. My belly button might look a little strange for a while but it’s not as if anyone will really see it (unless I release some sort of Shakira belly dancing CD… unlikely).
The actual surgery was the easy part. The most painful part of it all was having my digestive system all messed up. That was hell! Of course once I see the hospital bill, THAT might just kill me.
On the bright side of all this? I lost a bunch of weight. I started my diet on April 12th and weighed in at 212lbs…as of today, I’m 182lbs so I lost 30lbs. My goal was 180-ish and I’d been stuck at about 190 or so before I had the operation. I guess I just needed to lose an organ in order to hit my mark (a diet I wouldn’t suggest).
On the downside, I haven’t really spent much time promoting that Star 98.7FM contest…not as much as I would have liked. I think the voting ends on August 4th so If you haven’t voted, please take a moment and send a vote my way. Pretty please ![]()
Here’s a link to the new Video and the 3 easy steps on how to vote.
At this stage in the game, I’m not sure where I stand in the rankings but I’m still hopeful.
Let’s see…what else is happening. Or let me reword that…what else has been happening while I’ve been out of the loop.
Last Friday, I was invited to the A&E Red Carpet kickoff event for the reality show The Two Coreys. My drummer Chuck also plays drums for Corey Feldman’s band. I really wanted to go but I was feeling pretty crappy. Chuck said he’ll be on episodes 7 and 8 this season so If you tune in, you’ll see him.
Hmm… other than that, I reserved my plane ticket for my trip back to Michigan in mid-September. It’s been a few years since I’ve been back and I’m really looking forward to the trip. I thought about DRIVING back but the plane ticket was so cheap that I couldn’t pass it up. Gas would have cost me 4 times the amount of the airline ticket but something about a long road trip does sound appealing. Perhaps next time I’ll make the drive instead.

welcome back to the world of the living
I was worried about you.
I think a long road trip would be a blast!
So are you going to post any pictures of your belly?
Pictures of my belly? LOL uh…naw, I don’t wanna scare anyone. You’ll have to wait for the belly dancing CD
Hey glad you are starting to feel better! I guess you are gonna beat me on the weight loss before the trip! I booked my flight to go home too, Cant wait!
can’t wait to see you in Sept! I have a room at the Hyatt that night…are you staying there too? I’ll probably have some folks up the room after and throw TV sets out of the hotel window [kidding] heheh
I read on CNN.com about a Chinese guy that had a 23-pound tumor removed from his face and head… it was a significant improvement.
I’m glad you’re feeling better and not particularly disfigured or discombobulatedl Maybe you can write a new cutting-edge song about going under… the knife.
HA! “take me under…the knife!”
yeah..who needs an appendix anyway right
Glad you are starting to feel a bit better. Any surgery sucks . . . I wouldn’t wanna have any more in my lifetime.
Question about the voting. Is that a “one shot only” per session kinda thing? Cuz I went to vote again, and I didn’t really get that option.
i think the rules say you can vote once per email address but it seems to add a cookie to your browser once you vote…i was told that if you delete your cookies it’ll let you vote again with another email address in case you have more than 1 person sharing the same computer.
appendix eh? glad you’re alive and well, and blogging!
Thanks sir jorge! yeah..it’s good to have the worst over..that was the worst! The good news is, i don’t have to worry about that happening again
