My best friend never calls me--I'm always the one making the effort. What's annoying about that is that she uses it as an excuse when something doesn't go right. Like last night I called and asked her what was up, and she gave me the rundown and I said something about dinner, and she pulls up and has dinner for herself. I was sort of asking her to have dinner with me, but she didn't bother to call and then said, Well, you didn't call me today. Oh. Friends actually suck when you have any level of expectations from them. I guess the ones worth having are the ones that make the same level of effort for you as you do for them. Oh, and as much as "out of sight, out of mind" is true, think of it as "absence makes the heart grow fonder." Sometimes it's just that silver lining that gets ya by.
