Sunday Night’s Alright for Fighting?
I know I haven’t blogged in a few days… "Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans"…
Last night, I ended up doing something I haven’t done in a LONG time. I got into a FIGHT. I was playing hockey and one guy on other team BLATANTLY punched a gal on my team[yes, we have a few girls on our team] and knocked her down. She’s a tough gal and can take a hit but this was so intentional and seeing it made me spaz out and start hitting the guy in the head a bunch of times until the refs pulled me off him.
I didn’t even think about it…it was just an involuntary reaction to watching a guy 6′3 / 260lbs punch a gal in the head (who can’t weigh more than 120lbs) and knock her down.
Fighting is such a strange thing. I was always a scrappy little kid in my teen years, but as an adult, it’s not something I even consider. However, last night I really lost control. It’s not a good feeling to lose control like Dr. Bruce Banner after too many Gamma Rays
When most people think of hockey…the 1st thing they think about is fighting…but fighting in games is such a RARE thing. It really doesn’t happen …because if you fight…they throw you out of the game and can fine you.
And so…Last night I was THROWN out of the game…I’m not even sure If I get to play next week but I guess I’ll find out soon enough. The guy had it coming though. My fist is a little sore today but I walked away without a scratch.
No, I’m not one of these guys who has to fight to be all "bad ass"…It actually takes more strength to walk away from a battle but last night I gave in to the dark side.

You are too cute. You almost don’t need to be banned from next week’s game. You are punishing yourself enough.
It’s good to see that chivalry is still alive. Tough or not . . . no woman deserves to get decked by some guy.
I can just see this on Inside Edition after you’ve made it and beat up the papparazi. “Bob Gentry has had a history of getting into fights. Back in 2007, he defended a woman’s honor during a hockey game . . .”
Hugs, and hope the hand feels better soon.
Oh, and I missed you when you were gone. Don’t do that anymore.
Ooh, better dirt than that? Dee-lish!
enough dirt to cover my coffin
I think we all have that. It’s the bones rattling in the closet that scare me.
You look like you could have a temper. You can fight for me any time
hehehe
yeah, i used to be worse when I was younger but I’ve mellowed out quite a bit…now i just rant on a blog ever so often rather than actually punching someone
I have no comment on the topic of you and fighting
LOL yeah.. [oh to anyone reading, Jeff and I grew up together and his no comment is actually lotza comments LOL]
We DID grow up in DEE-troit and all

Thanks for helping me out that time of “The Human Bite/Finger” happening
three blocks from detroit
we were the border town and we had to protect them
[Kidding]
Hmmm… I was once thrown out of a CHURCH!!! They came to my home and very nicely asked me to go attend some other church… and I didn’t even punch anyone out! I think my being tossed out of a brodtherly-loving church trumps your being ejected from a cocky-jockey hockey game.:lol:
wait…you mean the church didn’t catch fire when you walked in??

I have to wear a helmet when i go in a church — the roof will fall in.
I’ve never been in a fight…….whoa! did you see that bolt of lightening? It was mighty close
LOL me too
I’m a biter not a fighter
Lets see the mother in me would have some comments about last nights escapades,, but the woman in me keeps pushing the mother in me down and saying, BRAVO, and then clamping her hands over her mouth cause thats not socially correct. Who cares! If a bum like that would do that in public in front of everybody, then what does he do to people smaller than him in private? I bet he went home and beat up some dog or something! Is the woman ok? Do hot and cold soaks on your hand. Oh, is your insurance on those fingers paid up? Can’t be riskin those prodigious digits without insurance!
yeah …the Gal ho took the hit is a tough gal and is fine (just a little startled at the time). Its a risk everyone takes while playing hockey..all part of the game.
Sure makes for a fun blog entry though
You go, boy! I don’t necessarily condone fighting, but sometimes, it is indeed necessary!
Glad you are back to posting! Also, glad you didn’t hurt yourself or get your gorgeous face beat to a pulp!
i’m one oft he guys who wears a cage on my face..i want to keep my teef
(teeth, i meant)
I like it. I think it’s a good way to get out your agression and I think men should fight more often. I think everyone has gotten too nice and not enough people are keeping the AS****** in line.
I’m glad you did it. I think you rock as always.
K
but you’re a hockey gal fan
you think like a hockey player ..more people should eh?

[I'm glad i did it too]
Amen! Our culture has tried to train aggression out of our men., and while we don’t want to encourage it as a method of solving all problems, some people just aren’t going to pay attention unless they get clobbered! We were actually turned into the police for my husband verbally expressing his anger over the phone. No swear words or threats just lots of loud voice and justifiable anger. These people were terrified! Apparently men are not allowed to express anger. But people love it when women get into a cat fight! In my opinion repressed anger is what leads to people going postal!
Cathe
I like the way you think Cathe.
