The Thanks
Before I go into my blog thoughts for the day, let me say a big THANKS to Adam Curry for being the 1st to give "Goldie Hawn" a spin on his Podcast [The Daily Source Code]. Adam and the guys at Podshow.com kick asseseses
I usually just pick up Adam’s feed on iTunes so it’s been a while since I’ve actually looked at their site and I just noticed "Upside Down" is still in the Top 10 of Pop/Rock. It’s #6 now…so if there’s any podcasters out there wishing to give any of my tracks a spin to increase my chart rank, that would be DANDY! Thanks to those who’ve kept the song alive!
Check out DSC 510! ME and Quiet Riot all in the same show…it doesn’t get any groovier than that

Some Thoughts
Why does it seem that from Thanksgiving until New Years, everyone just basically stops working? I actually do some of my best writing around this time…songwriting…maybe blogging too…mainly, I feel most nostalgic around this time of year and it stirs the pot in my brain and causes me to jot down ideas.
Some people around me seem SO focused on the holidays and I keep hearing about all the plans that everyone’s going to do after the New Year. What’s wrong with now?….ok…so I’m being Scrooge this year. Maybe I need a visit from The Blog of Christmas Past to make me realize It’s a Wonderful Life. [I actually do have so much to be thankful for the year of 2006...For once, I'm looking forward to writing my little Year in Review].
Anyway… I know I’ve said this before, but I really am working on the next CD. I’m constantly writing but what I need to be doing is constantly recording. That’s what I’m working on now.
What’s been happening these last few years is… I’ve been having these recording contracts dangled over my head and it makes me hold off on recording anything. It’s hard to explain why that would make me not record other than to say that I’ve been storing up Ammo. My next CD will be like the next chapter of RAMBO!

The Conclusion
So what’s going on now is…I’m not going to wait anymore. I should have been doing this all along. Now, the trick is…weeding out the good from the bad. One song at a time.

I’ve loved Adam ever since he was an MTV VJ. He has great taste in music and knows when something is good. That’s why he plays you. He doesn’t play crap; just the good stuff!
yeah, I like much of what he plays on his show too (not just because I get the spins either). I’m always happy for anyone who plays my tunes though. The whole idea behind being part of the PMN is that folks show support and if they like what they hear..they buy it
That and the exposure is pretty dandy too!
Podcasts reach much farther than radio stations
You’re turning into quite the tough guy eh…
Quiet Riot…
As for putting out new music… excuses, excuses. We are waiting.
I warned you I’m cranktankerous.
yeah..i’ve been keeping all the new tunes to myself …i’m a meanie
The best writers . . . . write. Journal, songs, whatever. It’s like Dory said in Finding Nemo . . . tweaked a bit. “Just keep writing . . .”
just wait until my 2 disc set of anti-Xmas tunes..KIDDING

I LOVE Dory. I can sooo relate to her, what with taking care of my mom and homeschooling my kids, and…..what was I talking about?
“I’ve been having these recording contracts dangled over my head and it makes me hold off on recording anything.”
That made me giggle as it reminded me of those old cartoons where there is a treebranch with a carrot dangled in front of a horse to keep it moving and whatnot.
Chronic procrastinators like the whole “wait until after the New Year’s” bit because they’re just lazy and they’re digging their heels in the mud. When translated, it means they haven’t a damn clue what they want and they’re buying time to figure it out. Hell I wish I could say what my plans were after new year’s because I haven’t a damn clue. Right now I am so focused on surviving through the next week that everything else has been put on hold.
Look at it this way. You know what you want, you’re going for it, and new year’s is just another day for you to work on through to attain it.
I don’t know how you can weed through your “babies” and choose which one to put on an album. I don’t know if I could do that. I guess that is why I threw all that on a back burner.
yeah…they make me move by dangling the carrot on a string…no more of that stuff
i’m eating junk food from now on instead of carrots
I guess in your case, Bob, they’ll have to dangle a Twinkie :mrgreen:
Procrastinators Unite….. tomorrow !!
YUM!
Hey Bob…
I am still in the land of no Christmas…Celebrating could get one deported…
Can’t wait for the Anti-Xmas album!

LBH
wow…that was an easy vote…much easier than having to log in to ST.com
got my vote buddy..hope you win
I had to look and see if voting was really that easy. It was! So I voted. Then I read your blog to see what I was voting for. haha If Bob voted then I will. One of my children is considering Chinese as a second language and one just loves animae cartoons, which drive me crazy because I am a cartoonist and I don’t like the style. Rebelion takes on many forms.
It’s great that you just keep writing no matter what. I can’t wait for the new CD. Even if it will be a while. I’m a loyal fan.
I’m a fan of yours too ya know
