Pizza by the Slice
Holly Shmolly, I found a cool Pizza Place that’s less that 3 blocks away from me. This could be DANGEROUS! It was YUMMY. Let’s see if I still think it’s yummy in a few hours. I LOVE pizza.
Right now, I have a VERY bad craving to smoke a cigarette…but I’m not going to do that…but boy I want one…but did I mention I’m not going to do that?
GOD…nicotine addiction is such a CRAPPY thing…I quit smoking for 2 years and for the whole 2 years I would DREAM about smoking… The thing I realize now is… all it takes is 1 cigarette and I’m back to being a full blown smoker…so, I just can’t touch them. I can’t even strike a match.
People who’ve quit say "it eventually goes away" but I have a bad feeling that I will always want to smoke for the rest of my life.
And so… I guess I’m still a smoker who just doesn’t smoke.

I know..
This works for me… when I think of a smoke I think of Peter Jennings..
.. wake up call !
yeah..that does help…but i STILL want one…that’s pretty powerful stuff. I just wish I never started
Peter Jennings, Johnny Carson, Yul Brynner, Audrey Hepburn… and you say you still want one? Of course you do but you won’t want one when they tell you that they have to remove part of your lungs or your bladder, (as in the case of Audrey Hepburn) or that you need chemo and you lose your hair and puke your brains out. I know. You still want one.
Next time you want a ciggie, go get your nails done.
so uplifting! makes me want one even more now!!!
naw..i’ll pass
How about this for incentive to leave the cancer sticks alone: You smoke we don’t vote.
please read carefully..it says i’m NOT smoking…but that i just had a craving
did they ever come out with that nicotine water? or maybe something at the herbal (lol herbal) store could help you when you have cravings.
I’m with you Bob, I have my own addiction to fight (almost 8 years without now) but sometimes I’m about ready to kill someone to get to what I want and think I need.
Hugs
congrats on 8 years!!! that’s FANTASTIC!
I know it gets easier with time..but some moments i REALLY miss it…but i’m not going to go back now
oh no hun, I never said it would get easier
Just have to keep thinking about what going back means, sometimes that’s the only thing that stops me and the love of my son.
At least, so far, you can’t get arrested for smoking too much lol
yeah…i’m strong-willed but i hate being strong-willed
hey Bob i have a idea - how about every time you want to smoke let me know, and I’ll smoke one for you?
ok…that’s about every 4 minutes
just set your alarm Ike
I usually don’t do serious but, just have some info for. All addictions are increased in magnatude dependent on how high your body is in heavy metals, (not the music kind) Specificaly cadmium which comes from cigs. A good detox program will help decrease the intensity of the cravings. If you want info on really simple, (but sorta expensive detox, I can send you a link)

oh, im all detoxed out…this is just all mental now
Uh - I think you’d better change your blog real soon. All this talk about cigarettes is makin me wanna go out and smoke…and I quit about 30 years ago.
:sad::neutral::twisted::arrow::shock::smile::???::cool::evil::grin::idea::oops::razz:
I quit 5 years ago, and stopped dreaming of smoking about a year ago. I think when that happens, the chances of restarting are less…….but all it takes is just one!
I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. I’ve tried cigarettes over the years and the taste is so vile and disgusting I couldn’t even finish the cigarette. Even the smell makes me wanna puke. I have friends who smoke and I avoid their company as much as possible. Same way with alcohol. I drink occasionally but it doesn’t agree with me. I could never become an alcoholic.
My addiction: CARS! The shortest time I’ve ever owned a new car was 3 weeks. The longest was about 2 years. The average is about a year or less. I once tried to figure out how many cars I’ve owned since my first one 47 years ago and I think it’s been well over 300. Sad. I could be extremely wealthy if I wasn’t addicted to cars.
at least your car addiction can’t kill you –unless you get run over by one or something
I know..it’s that “just one” that gets you…that’s how i screwed it up last time after quitting for 2 years….it was the “just one”…next thing i knew, it was just one PACK
I was a VERY GOOD smoker–if there is a such thing..i’m a lousy non-smoker but i’m still not smoking….so 5 years huh? shit!!!!
My dad was a 3 pack a day Camel smoker. I’m 49 now, when he passed away he was 43.
By the way, the toxins from cigarets or anything else stay in your system forever, unless you pull them out. They latch on to the same receptor sites that minerals are supposed to latch on to. So keep your liver healthy with an herb called Milk Thistle, (Wall Mart has a good brand) and take it when ever you drink alcohol or take any type of pain killer. Your body will thank you.

I thought we talked about the lolipops lol. You can also try chewing on some sugar free gum. I’ve cut down a lot since I’ve been working. I’ve gone from 1 pack a day to 1 pack every 3 days. Now if I could get it down to 0 packs a day I’d be set lol. This $10 a pack is killing me lol.
I almost started smoking when I was in the Army. They had to deal with the hurry up and wait policy, so whenever we had to stand in formation and wait for something, the drill sargents would declare, “Light em up or PicK em up!”. So those of us who didn’t smoke had to walk around and pick up the butts of those who already had! I said to self, screw this!. I bought me a pack (.65) per pack and “lit em up”. However having been a second hand smoker all my childhood, I never even coughed. And I smoked the entire pack in one day! Now being as the military pay check was so meager, and my one other love was eating out, I weighed my options. I said to myself, “Self, you enjoyed that waaaay to much, and if you choose this habbit there will be no money left to eat out. Placeing both passtimes on the scale of pleasures, eating out won hands down! That’s been 30 years and I still crave those cancer sticks. I still second hand smoke whenever I get the chance. I figure its already been through the other persons lungs and therefor not so bad, (for me:twisted:) “Of course I don’t mind if you smoke!”

my gawd..i never knew what that expresion meant till just now[Lite em up for pick em up] “So those of us who didn’t smoke had to walk around and pick up the butts of those who already had!”
I would have smoked too
Here’s another phrase for ya in ref to that. “Time To Police the Parade Grounds!” It was just a phrase that meant walking around and picking up ALL the trash.
Cathe:roll:
eeek $10 a pack?..i recall paying $8 a pack back in NY ..and i thoght THAT was high,
Mmmmm smoking. We are strong. Cigarettes have no power over us. We will pack on fifty pounds eating to avoid smoking ever again.
No, the worst is when I am working on my computer . . . doing something difficult and I look around for my smokes.
ARGH!!
yeah…the computer and smoking ..that was one of the hard things for me. That and Driving, after meals…going out to a club…well..basically ANYTIME LOL
I’m strong but i still get cravings…I guess now that i realize i WILL ALWAYS want one, i know how to deal with better
My brother just called and said he sat down on his couch this morning to have a smoke, dozed off and was awakend by flames on his chest and he had to put himself out! I told that nut case years ago to stop smokeing!
