I don’t even know where to begin with this entry. This last week has been really great being on the StarTomorrow show. The exposure has been incredible but even more than that is the amount of people willing to help out and spread the word has been…well…FANTASTIC and I am SO grateful!
I replied to a comment in the last post saying something like "I don’t think I’ve ever said THANK YOU so many times in one week before"…I meant each and every one of those. I know sometimes it might seem like I’m rushed with my replies to emails and such…please forgive that. I’m guilty of being caught up in the moment. Things should settle down after the voting deadline [9pm, August 14th].
I’ve been getting some email from people who say they’re having a hard time logging in or that the startomorrow site is sometimes down. Thanks for being patient with it…keep in mind, it’s a website and we all know websites sometimes mess up …but by checking back later…it’s usually fixed ;)

Ths only downside to all this is when you make it to the finals (and you will) you will have to campaign all over again. Then when you get the record deal you have to figure out who to invite to the record signing party. (You will piss off a lot of people) Then after you’ve cut your album you have to campaign again and tell everyone your CD is finally out. Then when you get nominated for a Grammy you have to decide who to take. (Your mother, of course!) Then when you win you have to decide who to thank. (ME first and then the “little people”) Then when the money starts rolling in you have to decide….MBZ? or BMW? (I’d get a Lexus) Beverly Hills? or Malibu? (Sunset Plaza Dr Hills-only place to move!) Angelina? or Julia? (go for the big tits)

People are weird. When I worked for Entertainment Tonight, as a producer/director I would sometimes do “man on the street” interviews at Grauman’s and tourists would come up to me and ask for my autograph. They had no way of knowing I was just another replaceable robot. I guess when you’re from Hooterville, America Hollywood is a big deal.

And you’re right. I’m from Hooterville, so Hollywood and the whole LA thing is a bit “romantic” (if that’s the right word).
Hey John - Maybe we do know each other. It’s a small world. I once shot Margaret Avery who played Shug in “The Color Purple” and come to find out we’re both from San Diego, both the same age, both graduated the same year (different high schools) and our dads knew each other having worked at the same place for 25 years.
I was with ET for about 12 years but knew some folks at E!. Maybe we’re related??

But now I realize they all shit and fart like the rest of us. I remember Liz Taylor farted at the dinner table once. It was so bad we all had to leave and left her there laffing her ass off like a wench.

after hearing those stories it makes “hooterville” seem a bit more bearable. perhaps you do know him. his name was brian, moved to LA from CNN in Atlanta 12 years ago, worked at E/ET, Discovery, and a few others doing documentaries, and now he’s doing reality Tv now, e.g., co-exec prod on beauty and the geek & back to class…not sure what he’s working on now, other than changing diapers on a new kid. =)
Brian….hmmmm, I know a few Brians. I worked at ET from 1982 to about 1987 then again from about 1992 to about 1998 when I retired. I also did Lifestyles of Rich and Famous for a few years. A LOT of turnover cause everyone hated Robin Leach. Brian may have passed through there at one time. I think everyone in the business did at one point in their career.

Dumb question, or maybe not, but are you doing anything in the way of practice and putting on your “game face” for tomorrow?
Do good singers even need to practice or does it just happen naturally? I took 10 years of “forced” piano lessons and today I couldn’t play a note, so obviously I have no talent, but what about those who do, such as yourself?

we alreayd taped all 4 songs…if we get through to the next round, i’m guessing they’ll just post another song that we already recorded.
but yes..we could always use more practice
piano practicing was always the part I never liked.
