Updated Music News
About a week ago, I hinted about some exciting music news. Well…I was asked to submit for a new NBC show called "StarTomorrow". It’s basically a network-quality program distributed online and people will need to vote on the performers. It seems to be set up similar to American Idol. The winner gets a recording deal or something along those lines.
The show sounds like a ton of fun to me and with it being internet based, it’s right up my alley since the fans I have out there are pretty web savvy. If I get on it, I’ll be asking for your votes though…and your friend’s votes..and their friend’s votes and their grandmother’s vote….etc…The band and I will have to perform some cover songs and some originals ( I think as the show goes on… and if we remain, we’ll get to do more originals but I’m not too sure about that just yet). I am told which covers to do, but I’m not sure how much say I get in the original songs.
I was going to be part of some of the filming of the casting episodes of show but half my band are out of town…and I’ll also be gone on a trip that’s been planned for the last 8 months that I can’t get out of :-[ …but we’ll all be back in time for the regular filming and ready to rock! 
Anyway…That’s was the news I was speaking of…I’m hopeful and excited.

If I would have known that was your attitude, I would have held off voting on the poll. I will however take you up on that offer for show votes. I think a 1:1 exchange is fair… Deal? I’m going to assume the answer is yes, since that kind of thinking seems to have done me so much good so far…:???:

That’s clearly a ‘yes’. Now you really do need to get on that show.
Kudos to NBC for finally coming up with something cool. Web based! Great idea! Since more people spend more time online than watching TV, (at least I do) I’ll bet it will be a huge hit. Finally those bored office people have something more constructive to do behind their boss’ back than play tetris or search for porn. I can just hear your songs being played back in offices across the world. Maybe your can do a Chinese version of “Upside Down.”
well…there’s still a chance that i might not get to be on the show so i’m trying not to count too many chickens but i am hopeful.
a Chinease version of Upside Down would be SWEET!…i have a hard time with English as it is though
I’ve been a big fan of your music after discovering you on GarageBand.com. This sounds like a show that was tailor-made to showcase your talent. I will be watching for it and you can be sure that you will have plenty of votes coming your way from me and all my friends here in Seattle.
yeah GB.com has been a great site for getting some exposure..thanks so much! I just checked GB.com and Upside Down ranked #18 and it keeps going back and fourth from that to #22. There’s some tough critics out there…thanks for being a nice one
One day soon I expect you to get the respect and attention (and contract) that a singer-slash-songwriter-slash-musician of your incredible talent deserves, Bob! And this kind of exposure is a big step in the right direction. THIS way, the fans get to pick the best original artist-slash-performer… that’s a HUGE step forward in the music industry, I think!
Now enough of this slash-ing… SYou go, Bob! Rock their socks off, and I will stay tuned for StarTomorrow…

i keep feeling like i’m just right on the edge of it all constantly…it’s a sharp edge…if i get too close, i get cut…hopefully one day i get to make it over and only bleed a little. …it sure has been blood, sweat and tears along the way though . (maybe more sweat than anything;) ) —maybe it’ll pay off some day
Wow! That is great news even better news for NBC if they have enough sense to pick you. Let’s hope they do better than CBS’ Rockstar. What a bunch of losers they picked. Their loss, NBC’s gain if they go with you.

In any case..i plan on having fun.
The more fun you have with it the more it will show in your music and performance. There’s nothing worse than watching someone trying too hard to be liked. It’s like BAD Karaoke! Either you have it or you don’t and you, do indeed, have it. Just be yourself and the votes will come rolling in.
