Well, now that that’s over…
Thanks for the birthday wishes …cards and all that. I’m just glad it’s over. I try not to groan too much about getting older but that’s life. It sure beats the alternative. New Years Eve is another one of those times I’m not much a fan of either…I suppose any event that marks time FLYING is never fun. On the bright side… As I get older my car insurance should be going down 
I updated the last blog about being scammed from my bank[it's in Red]…I went down there yesterday to talk to someone face to face rather than argue with people on the phone. I walked away feeling like it was my fault because I didn’t read the fine print. Ah well….will be changing banks soon regardless. It’s just seems like such a pain…it’s like moving..or changing web servers or something.
I watched the last couple shows of the new RockStar: Super Nova. There’s about 3 people on that show that seem to be pretty good singers and only about 2 who seem like they fit the band. I think the winner will end up being a female this season. 1st impression? I like that Storm gal’s voice…this could change though.
I’ll admit, It’s a little depressing to watch it and see some of the crappy singers on there. I guess it wasn’t meant to be for me(maybe for the best)…or perhaps next season I’ll give it another go…or maybe by then I won’t need something like that. I’ll still watch the show though…The one thing I really like about it more than the INXS Season is…the bottom three get to sing a song they like rather than the band making them sing one of their own. (That poor fellow singing a Duran Duran song…I knew he was a GONER the second he said he was going to sing one of their tunes…he basically cut his own throat there)
Off subject, there’s a chance I might be on another show but I don’t have enough details on it to really say anything just yet other than NBC has something to do with it. The second I know anything…I’ll be hyping it to death though…and if it doesn’t happen, I move on to something else.

I too have been watching Rockstar and hate it to the point where I ‘d rather watch reruns of “I Love Lucy.” All that ass kissing and those aging has beens - Tommy Lee in particular, trying to resurrect their careers. None of the performances are natural…those wild meaningless convulsions while they force feed their crappy singing down your throat especially that “I’m Well Known In Iceland” arrogant asshole. And the Elvira bitch with the hood…does she really think that’s attractive? I do realize that this show is a whole different genre than American Idol but the idiot producers could have at least picked a variety of more talented singers who could have grown into what the show is all about. And that set!… straight out of a Moroccan whorehouse! And if I hear “What’s up baaaaaabeeeeee?” one more time I’m gonna hunt down Dave “I’m wearing too much makeup and black hair dye” Navarro and throw up all over him.
You should be glad you didn’t make the cut. The show is a total embarrassment and sad comment on where television is headed.
I have a feeling they already picked the peopel before my audition…my date wad the very last audition date,…i also noticed they had none from CA.
I still like the show…but i cringe at most of the singers

Sean Connery’s pretty old, and he’s still got his mojo! LOL Just because there’s snow on the chimney doesn’t mean there’s a fire in the furnace! And trust me, you’ve got mojo! =)

I know you are coming at this from a totally different perspective. But just my opinion is that Supernova would have been so wrong for you. You’re great solo, so why give that up? You just keep writing/singing and let us keep listening. OK? Deal?
i just wanted the exposure ;)…not sure if it would have been good or bad…but i would have had fun either way. I would have hoped for 2nd place

Ok I LIKED the Duran Duran guy. I don’t understand why they couldn’t judge him by his singing merits, not that it was by Duran Duran. On an aside…back when I was 12 I was at a crossroads - Duran Duran or Def Lepard. I went with Duran Duran.
Maybe next year Rhodes could dump Simon and we could have DD looking for a lead singer?

i could have easily changed my look for this show..i probably should have knowing who the band was… i’m somewhere in the middle of Idol and Rockstar….perhaps when they come up with a show called Rock Idol?

the one thing that’s funny in this show is…these band guys need the singer much more than the singers need the band…INXS would still be looking at old concert pictures from “the good ol’ days” if not for the show and JD
I’m with you on the Duran Duran song choice. What difference does it make what song you sing as long as you’re a good singer? It’s not like he sang, “Ol Man River” from Porgy and Bess for Chrissake! Those arrogant over the hill, has-been schmucks!

I know I don’t “know” you, but I just don’t see you fitting in with Supernova now that I’ve seen them and the top contestants. The band definitely had a hand in the people who were chosen as many of them are screechy, shouting types. Obviously that’s what they’re looking for. That and someone much younger to make them feel like they can turn back the clock.
On a different note, the one guy, Chris is it? Totally did a song that sounded like he was a Michael Hutchence wannabe, trying out for Rockstar Inxs.
