GAWD! Watching American Idol last night was quite painful! Thank god for DVR… I recorded it and was able to Fast Forward through some of it. It’s sad when the most entertaining part of the show is watching Paula and Simon get pissed off at one another.

Katherine(who i thought stole the show last week) was really off the mark this week. I still think she’ll stick around and be in the top 12 but she …wait a minute…NO ONE had a good performance in my opinion. Kellie Pickler had the best vocal of the night, perhaps. What’s the deal with these song choices the girls picked though? Half of those songs I’ve never even heard before. Not that i think everyone should be singing super well-known songs or anything but I was just bored.

Paris, who i thought was a strong singer …her version of "Wind Beneath My Wings" was more like a bird on a wire being shot down with a shot gun. The tall basketball player girl…i could only stand to listen to about 30 seconds of her singing and then i hit the Fast Forward button. I like her personality though. I wish I could say more about the show but I can hardly remember any of it…easily forgettable!

Lisa(the 16 year old) didn’t do half bad, but again…what the hell was she singing? I sure hope the guys do better tonight. My top 3 guy picks from last week were Chris, Taylor and Ace(I just hope he doesn’t pull out another George Michael song tonight).

So who’s going home? I’m totally clueless. [End of Idol Thoughts]

Friday at 8pm, I have band rehearsal again…I’m looking forward to that. I’m going to have a friend come and video tape some of it so I have something to look and listen back at. Maybe if something sound Okay, I’ll post some of it.

From Left to right… Kevin (Lead Guitar), Khalil (Drums), and Randy (Bass).

Kevin, played in my old band Moisture, Khalil and Randy both play in about 5 other groups around town and are solid. All three guys bring quite a bit to the table. Throw me in there on Piano and Guitar and that’s the group. So far, it’s been a real pleasure working through the songs with these guys.
