A few Photos from Thanksgiving Weekend

[Me and Mom at the Beach "Thanksgiving 2005"]
Well…As I mentioned in the last post, my mother flew in from Michigan and my Aunt and Cousin flew in from Pennsylvania. We did some tourist things…hit the beach…Disneyland…The Walk of Fame in Hollywood…Rodeo Drive…Melrose…Sunset Blvd… And we even managed to squeeze in a Thanksgiving meal(free of Bird Flu). It was a very nice visit. My Aunt and Cousin [pictured right] ended up getting tattoos on Hollywood Blvd. I guess that makes my family pretty "rock and roll". I’m tattoo free… so far…but If I were to get one, I’d go all out and just get a full sleeve. I think the last time I’d seen my cousin was about 6 years ago (briefly)at a wedding in Michigan… before that, I’m pretty sure it was when she came to visit us for a summer back when she was 7 years old … I blink and suddenly everyone grows up. Not me though My Aunt, I see more often… if memory serves me…it was in Las Vegas a little over a year ago. She looks exactly how I remember her looking from the time I was a kid. I think everyone had a nice time…For the most part, the weather was great. The days were sunny and warm… maybe a little windy as you can see from this photo above… but then again it can get to be a little windy on the ocean. Yesterday as we were walking through Hollywood…it was FREEZING …though I’m sure nowhere as cold as what everyone else was used to. [I'm told it's snowing in Michigan and Pennsylvania now] And so…I’m guessing this brings out the crowds even more. All I know is….it was PACKED! And I’m told there’s even MORE people there on Christmas day. Hard to imagine more there than the amount I saw …but I’ll be sure not to go then. I hope you all had a nice weekend!

Oh, I should mention…err…I mean WARN… Going to Disneyland over Thanksgiving weekend is probably not the best time to go. Apparently…the Wednesday just before Thanksgiving is when they decorate Disney to have a Christmas theme. Even the Haunted Mansion was changed to be "The Nightmare Before Christmas".

holy f*ckin sh*t are you kidding me? thats your cousin? How old am I now? 63? She looks like an adult for god’s sake! Isn’t she like 8? The last time I saw her …oh my god I am a senior citizen, holy crap…this isn’t fair….
Yup…she’s 24 now
unreal huh?
Yeah umm…I’m 26…she’s right in my age range, and she is SMOKING hot! Want to hook a brutha up?
I’m not sure she wants to live in Michigan though
Are you ready to move to PA?
Who knows, she might be a keeper!
i used to tease her when she was a kid…her knockname was “the spawn from hell” but she was atually far from that…i just liked to tease her
Those are great photos. Seems like you had a good time. But the Disneyland thing…UGH! As much as I love Disneyland I haven’t been there in about 20 years. It’s the crowds that keep me away. Insane! Most of your time is spent standing in a 2 hour line for a 10 minute ride. Suggestion: Try Vegas one year. It’s absolutely deserted on Thanksgiving day and CHEAP! As I recall, it was perhaps one of the best T.G.’s I ever spent with my family. But each to their own taste.
yeah..Disney is much nicer NOT packed….but it was also sort of festive too.
Vegas is fun any day ..or night…
I actually prefer Disneyland to WDW- as touristy as people may think “Land” is, “World” is 10x worse.
i guess it all depends on what time of year you go to each. I’ve been to the Magic Kingdom in Florida on off-season and it was just fine
only they have more bugs there
Glad you had a good time. You weather looks better than ours. Lots of snow here in Germany at the moment. BTW - cute cousin!
yeah…my cuz turned into a little “hottie” … it’s just how funny how fast everyone grows up. She was a cute kid too though.
It looks as though you had a nice–and fairly busy–Thanksgiving with members of your family. For all of the effort that can go into these get-togethers, they’re still wonderful. It’s special touching base with our families.
As for tattoos, I just can’t get into them and am sort of baffled by their popularity these days. I guess I’m just an “old man” in that respect.
Cheers!

I’m with you on the tattoo issue. Most people I know who have gotten tattoos deeply regretted it. Several have had them removed and have been left with ugly scars. A lot of people who get tattoos get them on impulse. But I’m one to talk. I’m on my 3rd new car this year cause I can’t find one that I like. I’m an admitted caraholic.
hey guys…the keyword i posted was IF… as in IF i were to get a tattoo
I’ve been wanting one but i’ve been trying to decide on what i would get if i were to get one…and so…once i think “oh yeah, that would be nice looking”…i still wait and see if i still like the idea a few months later….most of the time the answer is no.
I’d get one if i could find something that meant so much too me that i’d want to ink it on my body…but so far..that hasn’t happened :(
I toyed with the idea of a Tattoo many years ago. Glad I didn’t - they look bad when you get old (and a lot of them don’t look good when you are young either!
)
Perhaps i should get a full body tattoo like that guy in the TV show *Prison Break* ? Not sure you guys get that program there in Germany…I like the show though
Strange to think that some folks tattoo makeup on their face.
Gorgeous..the lot of ya!
PS I hope you never get that sleeve!!
aw shucks…thanks

i just hope my family decides to read this and see all the nice words said
Yeah stay away from the tattoos Bob.. Why dabble with perfection? :))
smooth talker! LOL Far from perfect here though
You look like you have a lovely family.
Thanks for the nice words Christopher…
i was just checking out your site…nice stuff there…i like the *Waste Not* post:!:
Just found your blog and like everyone else it seems, lol, I love it! Glad your holidays were fun!
Hi Erin ..THANKS
not everyone loves this blog though..ever so often i get a few nasty comments that make me smile
just heading out the door now..but i’ll be sure to give your blog a look-see when i get back

hug!
” I blink and suddenly everyone grows up. Not me though…” That is SO exactly what it feels like. When I run into the “kids” I once babysat, with their 12-year-old in the mall… ouch. And I DO have a tatoo! I have never grown up, and it really bothers me that other people have the audacity to do so behind my back.
wow..it’s been a while since i’ve popped in at your blog..i loved the video clips…the one with the grrrrrrrowl and all the crazy edits..funny stuff!
*I have never grown up, and it really bothers me that other people have the audacity to do so behind my back.*
I know what you mean…how dare they!
Oh god. Never go to Disneyland on a holidays or near the holidays (Thanksgiving or Christmas). I learned the hard way on valentine’s day. It was painful and almost made me hate disneyland.
So dinseyland and I have this demented ongoing love/hate relationship.
i know what you mean…i really don’t like large crowds I know that might sound strange coming from someone who like to perform in front of them though. It’s two different things though
waves “hello” …welcome and co0me back anytime…
i love your blog temptlate…very neat!
