My Flight Leaves Tomorrow Night
I’m taking a Red Eye back to Detroit tomorrow night. I think the plane leaves at about 10pm and lands at 6am. I’ve been trying to sleep in later and later and stay up later and later so when i get to Michigan I can just stay awake all day and get on that time zone. The 1st day is usually the roughest but when I land I usually have a bunch of stuff I want to do as well as see as many folks as I can 
I’m renting a car so I don’t have to torture anyone with having to pick me up at 6am and also so I don’t have to worry about being driven around (not that that’s ever been a problem). This should be a fun trip…It’s been a while since I’ve been back…at least it seems that way.
Well… I suppose I should worry about what to pack. I’m not taking my laptop this time…since I’m able to check email from my phone now…that’s pretty much all I’ll be needing. That and my Long Johns

I have found that there are 2 good things about getting out of town:
1) Getting out of town
2) Coming back
I can never sleep in an unfamiliar environment, even when I go home to visit my mom and sleep in my old room. It’s just not the same as my own bed with my own pillows.:???:
As for the Detroit weather….I thought LA has been dreary lately…it’s raining in Detroit and around 50 FREEZING, FRIGID, GLOOMY, DISMAL degrees.:cry: So, have a good trip!:lol:

You mean it gets worse? Geez! No wonder you moved to California! I guess being a native Californian, it’s hard for me to comprehend that there are people who can tolerate living in 60 degree and below weather….just as I tolerate being slammed against a wall occasionally by a 7.8 earthquake.
that goes the other way around too…i think it’s weird that some people here in CA have never seen snow before(other than on the hill).
I remember driving upto Big Bear on winter and the CA folks were all getting out of their cars and playing in the snow on the side of the road…very strange to me
.. and Christmas with no snow on the trees .. nothing like puffy powdery snow outside as we greet friends at the door then smell the log on the fire.. and the eggnog.. and the chesnuts.. gimme SUN..!
I suppose there *is* something nice about a white christmas(just like the ones I used to know) but…i’ll be happy to settle for sunshine all year
The hi’s re going to be in the 50’s, probably more like the 40’s…am taking Wed through Mon off (work on basement and hang out)…email me frog…

Yes it is…and that means you won’t have to stand outside in thje 37 degree night air just before you go to sleeep…

You’ll be craving tall palm trees in a day or two, and you’ll have to hire crack whores and homeless people to mutter (and worse) under your window all night just so you can sleep.
You can’t go home again, they say, and you never step on the same panhandler twice, but STILL, it’ll be great to see how things and people have changed very LITTLE while YOU’ve thrown your thermal underwear to the winds, chased your dreams of music stardom, gambled your life on finding a golden ticket, refused to settle for life as an orthodontist, and have become the wonderful man you are today.

Don´t get me wrong, sleep is the best. Yet I don´t really need alot of it. It´s just luxury to have that.
