Let me start out by saying sorry if this post seems more like a commercial for iTunes …but I’m super impressed with the new version that allows video
downloads of TV shows like Desperate Housewives and Lost. Pretty sweet if you ask me!
No, I’m still not a Lost fan,…however I watched the 1st season of Desperate Housewives and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. I think because I didn’t expect to like it, made it even more enjoyable…a pleasant surprise.
*Please don’t mention anything about Season 2 to me…I’m waiting for it to be released on DVD to watch it back to back. 
There’s some other sweet features on the new iTunes [like being able to Gift music to people]–feel free to Gift my stuff out [cough] while you’re there 
Anyway…it’s Friday and I just downloaded the 15 day trial version of a program called BREEZE…it’s pretty SWEET Real Time Video Conferencing. It’s WAY to rich for me though…so when the 15 days expires, that’ll be the end of that…but talk about getting spoiled on live motion video.

I don’t mind live webcams but the last time I did it I forgot I was naked and that was the end of my webcam experience. I’m an idiot when it comes to embarrassing myself unintentionally. I was about to enter my condo elevator the other day when someone yelled, “Hold the elevator! Hold the elevator.” I panicked cause I had just farted so I quickly hit the “close door” button. Unfortunately (for her), she stuck her hand in the door and stopped the elevator long enough to get on. I guess it’s her own fault that she had to smell my fart all the way up to the 3rd floor. What does this have to do with a webcam? Sometimes they can be a blessing and a curse if you’re old and forgetful.
just too bad Adobe doesn’t have cool photoshop filters for webcams
I’m still not sold on buying downloads of TV shows. I’m just under the impression that they will be extremely large files or have low quality or most likely both.
i’ve yet to download a TV show…but I have downloaded a music video and the the quality is pretty nice[at least on my screen]
I know that some movie trailers are in HD now…so i’m guessing pretty soon the downloads will be as well. Time will tell…i still like the evolution of where it could go.
Pretty soon we’ll be renting newly released movies on iTunes…just my guess
I have DVR and am able to record HD movies and programs. I can also edit HD on my computer. A high def movie takes up about 6 gigs of space. That’s not much considering that you can pick up a 300 gig hard drive for about $150. That’s about 50 movies and by the end of this year or early next you can record HD on DVDs. There are already HD DVD players on the market but on the pricey side. Just like everything else though, the prices will drop dramatically when it becomes the standard.
it’s funny that today…hard drive has taken the place of the 1950’s cars…back then the faster car and more horse power you had …was cooler ..and now it’s hard drive space and computer speed

I have ummmm downloaded plenty of TV shows but not via ITunes. The quality is not bad at all. An Hour show is about 350M
are you getting MPegs? or AVI’s?

I just downloaded the Premiere episode of Desperate Housewives… on my cable modem it took almost exactly 7 minutes to download the 44 minutes of video… the quality is amazing, not HD, but VERY good, even when expanded to fill my 20-in flat panel monitor… easily tv-quality on my computer monitor, and the file is 209 MB on my hard disk, so I’m delighted to report the files are neither ‘extremely large’ nor ‘low quality’…
I bet it’ll get to HD soon too.
Yeah..the video file i saw looked pretty great full screen too…
i have a 17 inch and sitting as close as i am to it…it about the same was looking at a 70 inch screen that’s across the way
It’s funny, I’m not much of a fan of either show. I’ve seen an episode or two of both and I personally don’t see what all of the praise is about, but that doesn’t make much of a difference to me. I’m happy with Nip/Tuck hehe.

I had a post a while ago about being LOST with LOST and a bunch of folks came to defend it …my gripe was the handheld camera work is all
I guess I wont be downloading any video for a while as I am still stuck with ISDN access. I ordered broadband 3 months ago, and still dont have it. That’s German customer service for you!

There is a big demand, and I think that’s the problem. The companies have to many installs to do. Plus germany not really known for it’s customer service program.
I’ll let you know when I finally get it.
