Faking It.

Filed under: — Bob Gentry @ 5:19 pm

Today’s been pretty busy considering I haven’t really done anything. It’s funny to feel mentally beat at the end of the day and then look back and see that you didn’t really accomplish anything.

My options for today were…

  1. Audition for a Soap Opera
  2. Go to Stick Time to work on my Hockey skills
  3. Watch a bunch on New to DVD movies later

I’m am choosing to do #2 and #3. Not that I wouldn’t do a soap, I would…I just didn’t see this role as something that was right for me. Hard to explain… but I’m feeling that If i don’t feel a spark for the part then I didn’t want to waste anyone’s time faking it. I know…that’s what actors do….but something else will come along that I’ll feel good sweating over.

Meanwhile, I must run off to work on my Ice Skills …ya never know when they’ll be making The Mighty Ducks Part 3 LOL

HA! I know that it’s just that you don’t work ’shirtless’… all the soap opera hunks find some excuse to take their shirts off in every episode… in your case, the glare would burn out the cameras… LOL

It’s really wierd, but David Hasslehoff is really big in Germany & Austria as a singer. I don’t have any of his albums though :)

He SLAUGHTERED my favourite musical. I do NOT like his voice.

what musical was he in? or do I want to know? :)

Jekyll and Hyde. The male lead is a fantastic role, and there is one vocal piece that really needs a strong singer to pull it off. He doesn’t even know how to breathe properly.

Remind me and I’ll send you the song I am talking about (done properly of course).

Soaps make me gag, besides, I don’t like watching my life on TV.

When are you going to hit the ice in Vegas? That’s a bit of a gamble in itself, isn’t it? =)

However, your Tuesday is more eventful than mine.

I’ll be across the Strip twice on Monday.

I just love driving to uni and battling tourists on a daily basis.

You should’ve auditioned for the soap then turned it down. It’s always nice to get a job then be able to say, “No thanks.”

I think I do my best acting with my boyfriend :shh don’t tell: anyway - as long as #2 and #3 keep you entertained that’s all that matters.

I won’t tell your boyfriend–but i hope he’s at least paying the rent [grin]

Bob, nice look. A makeover is always a good thing. Though, what would be the harm in going out for the soap? But as I think about it, #2 and #3 aren’t exactly bad ideas either.

Hiya Jeff,
After reading the role offered, it really wasn’t something I wanted to do [hard to explain]. I would do other roles in Soaps…i just didn’t feel comfy doing this one.
There’s stuff to audition for all the time …something else that feels right will come along. ;)

You should have had an option #4. “Eat a dozen warm Krispy Kreme donuts.” That would’ve been my choice. YUMMY!
