Series 2!
Let me send out another thanks to the guys and gals over at The Downs FM for giving me another spin on their "Series 2- Show 01" and also for the nice words.
Technology is really quite amazing…and that they’re now doing Podcasting in school is even more exciting.
And here I thought my high school was somewhat advanced for its time because it had a "Radio Speech and Broadcasting" class. Taking the class gave us a small taste of what it might be like being Disc Jockeys.
[I know of at least one of the guys I went to school with went on to work for Detroit's WRIF Radio Station--I think he's still there and doing well.]
I enjoyed the class but I was always pretty shy and afraid to actually talk on the mic. Students would take turns with their radio shows and I was always sure to find super long songs[like the Beatles' "Hey Jude", or the Guess Who's "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature"] to pass the time without having to actually talk too much. These days, it’s hard to get me NOT to talk
It’s funny how some of us come out of our shells as we get older.
Oh, yesterday’s blog? "I let some air in the bag so the cat could breathe a little." …The Cat’s not quite out of the bag just yet. Sorry for the super secret encoded message. LOL Things are well. I was just mentally beat by the end of the day and a journal entry was the last thing on my mind [We've all been there].
Alrighty, let me close this thing off…Thanks again to The Downs FM…Kids Rock! [and teachers are pretty okay too]

Hey! At least you had some form of technology class in “Radio Speech and Broadcasting” in high school. When I was in high school television was still black and white, there were only 5 channels to choose from and 45 RPM records were the big thing. But at least I didn’t have to worry about some nutsy kid bringing a gun to school and going ballistic. In some ways the world is much better and in some ways it’s much worse. It’s all relevant.
I’m pretty happy that i can remember 8 track tapes…just cause they were so stoooopid

i wonder whose bright idea it was to stop right in the middle of the song and pop over to the next track
Wow, I’m the first one to leave a comment on one of your posts !
Good to see you’re in better spirits today, Bob. Was kinda worried about you yesterday.
Thanks …sorry…i didn’t get to unlock the posts until just now.

I wasn’t really in a bad mood yesterday…i was just sort of drained
things are good today
At the risk of sounding completely stupid…(and because I still don’t have my ipod but will soon)…what are podcasts?
hmmm…not a stupid question at all….podcasting is pretty new.
it’s basically like blogging but with audio…and so…the place where you have all your RSS files or Atom files saved…you can add the podcast to that and the second it’s updated, you know. [not sure if that makes any sense]

What’s happening is ..podcasting is making huge wave online and people are tuning in to different shows from all over.
There’s also Vodcasting too…[video casting].
I still don´t get the whole trouble you have with cats here… I can see it´s figurative speech as I don´t take you for a guy that actually puts cats in sacks. But that´s about it.
It would be cruel by the way.
The trick to bridge over those days is to have a couple of nice drafts saved that have some kind of story but no refrences to what´s currently happening in your life. Or at least that´s what I am doing. Anyways. Take care!
lol…yeah…figurative speech i wouldn’t dream of actually sticking a cat in a bag…
dog-lover or not
you know … dog-lover and cat-lover are not mutually exclusive
4 cats, 1 dog - love all 5 of ‘em … and it makes for some ‘interesting’ entertainment - the dog uses one of the cats as a chew toy
but cats have those switchblade claws
Freddy Krugger Kitty
silly boy - just don’t piss the pussies off
Just stoping by. Nice stay as usual. I always love browsing through your blogroll. Speaking od 8-track tapes: I just went to Rod McKuen’s site. I saw him give a reading in 1970 in Pueblo, Colorado! I will never forget the concert because he had asked several times for a guy to stop taking pic’s…this was in the days of dinosaurs, flash bulbs, and 8-track tapes….The guy took one more and Rod said “Plant that in your*bleep*and maybe it will come up tulips.”….Be well Bob.
lol that sounds like Rod

i’m thankful …honored…lucky…that i’ve had the pleasure to perform on the same stage as Rod a few times. Send Rod an email through his website…i’m sure he’d love to hear from you…and i’m willing to bet he’ll remember that concert/reading you were at too(he’s got a very good memory for things like that). He’s still selling new books and CDs
Were we in the same class? I think I might of had it right after lunch, I do remember that I was in the same class as Maryann and Dennis so of course I would not remember to much else because at the time I was so into Dennis I could not see to much else, sure glad that changed! Any way what a cool teacher he was I think he taught a lot of us some good life lessons….. That was when he was not flying high himself!! HA HA. Good to hear that you are going back home I thought I might do the same some time soon… Tell Jeff I said hello and have a fun safe cool weather trip!!
will be sure to say hey to Jeff…he has a blog too ..he posts on here under “Toast”
I’m not sure if we were in the same class or not…it’s been so long (shhh)
