Lex Us!
Well, the season premiere of Smallville was on last night. It seems like FOREVER since the WB had a "fresh episode" (as they put it). I so love that show!

I’m not sure how many of you actually watch Smallville but last night’s episode was one of the best to date. I’ll admit, the series does have some ultra-cheese moments[like the Kryptonite Kool-Aid and Krypto the Super Dog episodes], but that’s all part of its charm to me
The show must being doing something right to get moved to the primetime Thursday at 8pm slot… but I suppose these days with DRV and Tivo, airing day and time is not as much of a big deal as it used to be. All that being said, it’s still my favorite show on TV.
I keep waiting for the new Superman movie to come out and keep checking
the video journals at director Bryan Singer’s Bluetights.net site. For those who don’t know Singer’s work…he’s best known for doing all the X-men movies and The Usual Suspects.
I like Kevin Spacey and I think he’ll be a great Lex. As for the guy playing Superman/Clark in the new movie? I don’t know much about him other than he did some soaps. I’m sure he’ll be fine…to me this movie can’t fail…it has a built-in audience not to mention it’s going to bring back the man of steel to a new generation of kids.
Thinking back on my own memories of the old Superman movies with Christopher Reeve, the effects seemed pretty great then…and looking at them now it’s a little like watching Plan 9 From Outer Space, if you know what I mean.

Wasn’t Plan 9 from Outer Space the LAST of the Bela Lugosi films…? Not to mention the BEST of the Ed Wood classics? Who could knock a combination like that…? Well…
yep…Ed Wood..the “one take wonder”–ya gotta love that!
Yea, I posted that very pic of Kevin Spacey as Lex on my blog last week just to see if anyone noticed and asked about it, but no one did….
i did
I didn’t comment…but i comment of your art…you are great….anyone reading this comment…check out Toast’s Art!
I’m been meaning to ask you if you have anything I could be putting on my bare walls here
I used to watch Smallville every night on its 1st season but somehow fell out of it on its 2nd. Dunno why. Well, I guess there’s always the DVD to turn to.
Can’t wait for the Superman movie myself!
yeah..the DVD is the way to go…for some reason we don’t get HDTV on the WB network here….so the DVD would be more clear.
season 2 was sort of lame….but this season i have big hopes!
Just popping in from Blog Explosion to say hi!
Have a great day!
always glad you did…i was reading your blog about your son not feeling well…i think something is going around..i feel sort of crappy tonight too :-\
our weather has been crazy for CA
I’m not that big a fan of Smallville but I did enjoy the season premiere. It wasn’t as silly as some of the other episodes. Hopefully they will stay the course. I was a huge fan of Superman - both Reeves. Looking back on the TV series, HOKEY but I loved it at the time! Looking back on the movie, HOKEY but I loved it at the time. I really enjoy the current crop of comic book movie heroes. I wonder how many years it will take me to realize “HOKEY, but I loved them at the time.” About 2 years?
i had big hopes for Lois and Clark when it came to TV but I had a hard time seeing Dean and Superman…not sure why…i love the new Desperate Housewife though
I think she looks better with age
I’ve never watched smallville…….infact I dont watch very much telly at all. Probably some sports and news. I do watch movies on DVD quite a lot. Normally English soundtrack, and German subtitle for the missus.
I never watched much TV before DRV came along…and now i’m discovering TV again..but only because I get to watch on my own time. I also love HDTV…mighty nice stuff even if the stories are lousy
High def is awesome. I too, was never much of a TV person but when DVR/Tivo came along - add to that high def and a 65″ screen with 6 speaker surround sound, I would rather watch movies in the comfort of my couch and my own time than fight traffic, the hassles of parking and rude theater goers. These days, I can buy a DVD for almost the same price of admission. $15.00 here in Los Angeles. No wonder actors are millionaires. I can remember when I paid a whole 75 cents to see “Forbidden Planet” with Leslie Nielsen when it first came out. God I miss those days!
Smallville is one of those shows that is just better than it has any business being. It is literally a show about superman’s childhood and it does not get any lamer than that be between the excellent acting and the clever stories I have found myself liking a show I once refused to watch.
i think this is it’s last season..that’s what i’ve heard at least…he finally found the Fortress of Solitude…now all we need is for Mr. Kent to die and we’ll have superman
But people still watch Paln 9 From Outer Space! Got to say something for longevity!
yeah …it’s still a classic…just funny
