Runner Up

Filed under: Uncategorized — Bob Gentry @ 2:11 pm

Let me start the day with a [drum roll...]

Celebrity Sighting

Sisto

Who: Jeremy Sisto

Where: Just outside a place called The Griddle [Sunset and Fairfax]

He was there with what looked like his brother(maybe?) or just a friend. I was driving down the Blvd so I didn’t stop to get star-struck or anything. In fact, I had to ask someone what the guy’s name was…Here, I’ve seen HUNDREDS of his movies and I even like his acting quite a bit–yet I was struggling with his name. Anyway…it was just a sighting…figured I’d report it.

Now, onto this INXS Rockstar show… I suppose JD was the right fit for the band. When he was singing the INXS songs at the end of the show, there were moments when it sounded just like old INXS. I liked Mig, but I knew he was out of the picture a few weeks ago….and so I was hopeful for Marty.

Thinking about it today, I’d say Marty and Mig got the best deal by not being lead singer. I’m guessing Marty’s Single will be released …and he’s getting to open up for INXS on the road??? Hell, that sounds like a sweeter deal than being bossed around by the band if you ask me. Marty gets to do his own thing and not worry about learning CPR in the event of one of INXS members passing out or something ;)

I’m just glad I don’t have to listen to any more ass licking from the contestants…but I have to admit, i was entertained by the show :)

Spandex?

I also watched "Dancing with the Stars" last night…(anyone see this?)…Now, I’m a John O’ Hurley fan but that blue skin-tight spandex shirt he ended the show with could very well lose him the contest for a 2nd time. The 1st two dances they did were nice but the blue spandex had me feeling a little embarrassed…I still hope he wins even though it’s clear that Kelly is much better at being thrown around and twirled in the air :)

Speaking of more Dance Shows…I think "So You Think You Can Dance" is on tonight. I’m not as interested now that the spiky-haired break dancer got voted off last week but I’ll still watch. The thing that bugs me the most about the show is that not one of these judges mention the shitty choreography….these dancers are just doing routines they’re told to do. So when I hear "________, I expected more from you in this routine"…wouldn’t that be because the choreographer instructed these people what to do? I DO notice that when there’s a good routine, the judges are very quick to say "GREAT Choreography!" …Oh well…Good ol’ Reality TV.

[I should have titled this entry "INXS So You Think You Can Dance With the Stars"]

I hated the third runner up guy. My opinion was he was horrid. Yuck. Poop. I know I’m right because Mary agrees with me, and she NEVER agrees with me.

you mean Mig? i thought he looked the part and just seemed like a nice guy but he didn’t really have the “rock voice”..
I like that Trees song of Marty’s…thought it was catchy :-D

I told myself I wasn’t going to watch INXS, because I had to be a good girl and study, but when I flipped through channels and heard Mig singing Queen, I ended up watching anyways.

Me and music…ok…more like me and procrastination, but you get the idea.

I knew JD was going to win, but I would have preferred it to be Marty. JD just kissed ass so much during the series that it made me gag.

And I did watch the dance-off as well along with the BB6 finale (damn procrastination). The spandex was frightening, but when it came to dancing, I always preferred John and Charlotte.

I might check out “so you think you can dance” tonight, but I need to get through disc 6 from season 3 of Alias first, and deal with my sleep depreivation.

On another television note, that “My Name is Earl” show was hilarious. =)

Alias is my first time experiencing seasons on DVD. I like it, ALOT. It is like crack.

Everyone has been talking about Desperate Housewives, so I figure I’ll have to add that to my netflix queue.

I’m waiting on Season 4 of Alias, as I only began watching the programme in the last part of the season. I was wondering who the Hell this Rimbaldi guy was, and now I find he was integral to the entire series. I felt SO stupid.

We were driving down Sunset at night and the paparazzi were going nuts on the pavement, we still don’t know who we didn’t see HAHA
Mind you I had just come from dinner with psuedo celebs anyway. Saddle Ranch is the new reality star hangout lol

is Saddle Ranch the place with the mechanical Bull?

I just started this Celeb Sighting thing since some of my friends and family back in Michigan always ask “so do you see any stars living there?”
It’s hard to keep track…and so, i’ve started to blog them ;)

I was a big old INXS freak back in the day so I am so excited. Even though I didn’t like JD’s attitude at the beginning of the season, I think he was the obvious choice and the best for the job. He grew on me. Marty will be popular in his own right as will some of the others.

As for “So You Think You Can Dance”…I couldn’t agree more! A few weeks ago, my daughter and I were watching when one of the judges made a comment like you mentioned and she said, “Well, they are only dancing what the choreographer taught them!!”

Glorious reality tv….the end of civilization! :) But I love every minute of it. I’m gearing up to watch Lost in a little bit…woo hoo! I’ll let you know if the camera work is still shaky. ;)

i have a feeling INXS is going to be in for a little trouble with JD’s attitude …once he gets a full taste of leading that band, his ego’s going to explode(even more) ;)

Oh, so they DID mention about the choreographer? I was just annoyed when they were ripping apart the spiky haired break dancer…if he were to make up his own stuff …THEN he would have given the judges more. All in all…i suppose he was just good for dancing in the one genre though…i was shocked to see him go so soon though.

I’m on disc 4 of LOST still…it’s tough to get through….i just found out the brother and sister are not blood related…ZZZzzzzzz :-D

No, they didn’t mention how BAD the choreographer was! :) That’s why the daughter was getting mad.

Lost was soooo good tonight..and I totally forgot to pay attention to the camera work..sorry. I can’t believe you are still trying to watch. Why bother?? ;)

I miss that show already. What a stellar finale.

Didn’t get to see how Billy died, though. Perhaps he doesn’t.

The final season itself I thought was actually the worst for the first 8 episodes or so. But the final four comprised EASILY the best TV ending in history. Heartbreaking genius.

I never ever recognise celebrities.

Although how would I know? Maybe I have never seen a celeb. But occasionally someone I am with will point out an alleged celeb and I won’t recognise them. Or their name.

I guess I am not cut out for modern life.

Hi Gerald …
this sounds bad to say but…it’s (for the most part) true…the women celeb types I’ve seen do a complete transformation from on screen to off…where as the men pretty much look the same on and off screen(not all men). It’s just that makeup can do wonders.

I normally do not get star stuck, but i have to admit when i saw Paul McCartney i felt like i was living part of Beatle-mania LOL
I’d probably feel the same way if i ever met Sean Connery ;)

Too bad I haven’t seen any of the INXS Rockstar. I just know that Mig Ayesa is a Filipino and so, we were all hoping he’d make it. Well…

yeah…Mig…i liked him…he was in the london version of “We Will Rock You”…
i felt sort of bad for him…he was cursed with never having to be in the bottom three and that actually hurt him.
it didn’t air there?
