Wow, August was a great month for web hits on my site…The best so far. I’d say the site’s come a long way from the 1st month of 2003(I think I might have only had 80 hits that whole month–and some of those were ME).

I have to give credit where it’s due…The big spike in my website traffic comes from having a daily blog…Hopefully it gives people a reason to keep returning. But if I’m not mistaken “Unique Hits” mean NEW people?-If anyone wants to explain the difference in hits and unique hits, I’m all ears.

Another factor in the boost, is being hooked up through traffic exchange services like Blog Explosion and Blog Clicker. Being signed up to those sites have given my site some huge exposure and It’s also given me a chance to mingle cyberspace with new online friends.

If you’re like I am, then you spend more time online than watching TV. So if more people spend more time web surfing, I would imagine it’s just as important to have a solid web presence as it would be to be heard on the radio, in a magazine spread, or seen on TV (specially for someone like myself who’s doing the whole “starving artist” thing). [I'm just thinking out loud here]

Of course, being on seen on TV or Film still takes the prize. It’s hard not for me think back on my last band’s TV appearance and the responses. It was INSANE but PRETTY DAMN COOL! One moment, I’m playing a show for a 100 people in a club and the next day after a national TV spot, I received over 2000 emails, a handful of marriage proposals, and another handful of folks who assumed just because I was on TV, it meant I was rich.

Well…I guess the point to all this is…When you hear about celebrities complaining about what a drag the cost of fame is…they need to be slapped. One could only WISH to be complaining about such things.

By the way..I accepted all the marriage proposals.
